As soon as I move into a house, which should be this year, I'll be getting a dog. I might wait until christmas.

Probably going to be a husky. They're by far my favourite breed. Hard to look after but I'm certain I can make the commitment to do it. I've wanted a dog for years and I can't wait.

Ever thought of a Malamute? The ones I've come across are larger than a huskies. Met one the other day which had the calmest temperament and graceful nature.

On the other hand I have witnessed a Malamute kill another small dog as they passed each other on the street. And a different Malamute nearly killed one of my pet goats way back when I lived on a mountain.

So maybe stick with a husky on 2nd thought.

Never understood that about dogs. I've met a lot of boxers and they are really gentle and nice with everyone they meet in all age brackets. If they don't like someone they normally just sniff them and move on. But they can be so incredibly aggressive towards other dogs it's rather funny. Like humans = top notch, my own species = mortal kombat.

Goats>All.

Let me explain.

When someone is trying to one-up me in a way that serves no one but themselves, they can f*** right off. I've got little time for anyone having a dig or taking a swing.

Same goes for dogs. If one is trying to misbehave just to push my boundaries or threaten me then I have patience but no tolerance.

Goats, even when they headbutt you it's endearing and are the only being in this universe to transform a Taylor Swift song from mediocrity into entertainment. Fact.

Not to mention they can clear an acre or two of dense blackberry bush for breakfast! Other species will either try and eat you, take a bite and leave the rest like you're a sample platter, suck your blood, or the rudest of them all (humans and dogs I'm looking at you) will eat off my plate when they've already had their fill. The goat is benevolent.

Anyone been able to raise a pup solo while working? I am just looking into the practicalities atm. and I struggle to figure out how it can be done.

I don't think it can be done unfortunately.  I tried to think of a way but no good for me and more importantly it would be no good for the dog wither.  I am on my 2nd adopted dog now and it's brilliant.

I will save the puppy for when I am retired or if I work from home exclusively,  a nice thing to look forward too.  I want a Border Collie puppy but I must wait.

Dogs must be loving this having their owners home all the time. Flip side to it is that they can't greet other dogs at dog parks now because owners stay away from one another. I live next-door to a park and I see it happening. Dogs straining unsuccessfully at the leash trying to sniff each other's arseholes.

My sprocket spaniel doesn't care about other dogs, hardly registers they are there most of the time. He sits on the feet of other owners and only has eyes for a ball or stick (stop it).

hes absolutely knackered with us being home all day, he's also on his way to becoming a bear with the lack of hair cut.

Apparently dogs are very sensitive to affection (no sh!t sherlock!) so it's best not to heap all your kisses and cuddles during lock down onto them. You cause them severe anxiety when it comes to an end, because they don't know what to make of it. That's from some doctor of vet leading his specialist profession that you should listen to, because he was on the telly.

Probably should stop **** my dog then.

Was he named after the guy out of Bay City Rollers, the cartoon character from Toy Story, or the usual state of your penis?
