NRC Makoun

Albrighton Young Downing

Gabby

We want Dunne on top form for next tuesday so I would have him on the bench here.

No point playing CLark at LB because we don't want to risk him picking up another booking, I'd play him next tuesday though.

Makoun needs to get as much time as poss but I'd bring Petrov on for him if he is tiring.

Bring on Delf for Gabby at half time if we are winning.

Depends who's fit..

----------------- Friedel -------------------

Walker ----- Cuellar ----- Dunne ------ Baker

Downing --- Makoun --- Petrov ------- Young

----------- Heskey -- Agbonlahor -----------

Subs: Marshall, Collins, Clark, Reo-Coker, Delph, Albrighton, Delfouneso.

Would rather have Clark at left back against United, so wouldn't risk him getting a booking here. Keep NRC 100% for the United game because he'll be hugely important for us I reckon. Go 4-4-2 so Gabby can play up top, gets Heskey a game as well. Delph in for Petrov I wouldn't mind, but I'd like experience alongside Makoun for now.

I'd play Makoun and Delph holding

Bannan Ireland and Albrighton floating behind Fonz.

It's a good shout, maybe a little unfair on Bannan to play him wide, as it's not his best position by a long way.

My thinking would probably be play Delfouneso wide left in a three with Heskey up top. (Ireland out)

I'd like to see Heskey start too, they couldnt handle him in the Carling Cup game. Then again, maybe that had something to do with him coming on as a sub, so that would work too...would dearly love Fonz to get more game time though, especially in a game were Bent can't play

Same back 5 for me.

----------- Makoun --- Delph -----------

Albie --------------- DJ ---------- Gabby

------------------ Heskey ----------------

you would actually like to see gabby on the left?

Not my preference but I wouldn't want to play Ash as I'd like him to be fully rested for Man U and Ireland is still injured (?) so DJ would be my preferred ACM, unless he fancies giving Gardner a game in there?? Therefore, the LW is the spot remaining and he is probably best suited.

Many will say Heskey and Gab as a striking partnership but, unless they can get Gabby to play deeper, which I have never seen him to show any propensity to do, I think this leaves too big a gap between two sitting midfielders and those two.

I think Downing is probably the one due for a rest. Young recently had a week off courtesy of a red card.

I would like to see Delfouneso given a start here. In my view, while Heskey's form has been good this year, his petulance cost us 3 points against Sunderland and he should not be given automatic return to the starting lineup.

I also think there'll be around 4-5 changes in the team selected against Blackburn - partially due to the ManUre game a few days later.
