jat_r
I can't see the likes of Carew n Warnock playing because if we wanted to sell, the fee would be reduced or a sale more unlikely due to them being cup tied.
briny_ear
Really not bothered about this match. Will be pleased if we win - and we should really expect to - but I'm more fussed about the job of surviving in the premier league. If a cup run increased our confidence and team cohesion, fine, but the risk is it's a diversion and we pick up injuries. Probably won't even bother to keep in touch with the results. steve-67
I hope GH doesn't piss about with the team too much as I genuinely think we should be looking to boost morale a bit by trying to win the game. GH has over a week until our next game so the bollocks about resting players won't wash. Pick the best side available and go for the win.
theboyangel
Aston Villa News & View reckon no Ireland or Carew in the team for today... I'd have thought this would have been a good opportunity for Ireland.
Maradona10
That's from Tim Abraham saying there were not on the bus yesterday and nor was Warnock.
Ulver
I'm MASSIVELY bothered by this game. It's the FA CUP! I've never brought into that 'we must concentrate on the league' nonsense. How hard is it to concentrate on 2 competitions at once ? We need some confidence, and a win today would give us that.
OutByEaster? Posted January 8, 2011 Moderator Share Posted January 8, 2011 In terms of anything you could actually called success this season, this is all there is - it's our only opportunity for joy in 2010-11. I think we should play the strongest team we've got.
AVFC-Prideofbrum
Friedel; Walker, Cuellar, Dunne, Clark; Albrighton, Reo-Coker, Bannan, Young; Agbonlahor, Pires. Subs: Marshall, Petrov, Collins, Hogg, Herd, Delfouneso, Downing. Interesting.

Brumstopdogs
Downing and Collins deserved to get dropped to be fair!
AVFC-Prideofbrum
I'd rather Fonz/Ireland play than Pires to be honest or even play strongest team with Downing on left.

AVFC-Prideofbrum
Actually, changed my mind. For some reason, thought Blues game was mid-week. Friedel Walker Cuellar Dunne Clark Albrighton Reo-Coker Bannan Downing Young Gabby. For me. I was so close! Damn you Houllier with your Pires! Pilchard
Yes. After all the gobbing off he's done this week, Robert Pires deserves a chance to play today.
Brumstopdogs
Looking at our midfield NRC needs to take a lot of responsibility today. The rest of the midfield look very lightweight!
AVFC-Prideofbrum
Looking at our midfield NRC needs to take a lot of responsibility today. The rest of the midfield look very lightweight! Is a midfield I wanted to see though. Will be good, defence is good too. Wouldn't of started Pires but apart from that, it's spot on IMO.
Brumstopdogs
Yes, SHOULD be plenty of creativity in there (I hope!) but good to see some changes made.
snowychap
Yes. After all the gobbing off he's done this week, Robert Pires deserves a chance to play today. Obviously the 'word' he had with Houllier worked. :? I don't think Pires should be at the club let alone starting (watch him have a stormer today - still wouldn't change my mind, though). Jez
Either way he wont win over anyone. Win and its just against a poor Sheff Utd team, nothing special. Loose and its shocking that we lost against a poor Sheff Utd team.
