Not the greatest of evenings. Complete disaster by WMP , which was predicted. Kept us in a tight area outside the ground before letting us all go Digbeth direction to fend for oursleves.

Blues got ran at the Clements after a stand off happened without any police presence then villa fans basically walked into there main area of boozers such as the Dubliner. I was lucky enough to walk to the paragon before getting my bro to pick me up. We saw about 50 blues walking round Bradford Street on the mooch for Villa

Just got home.

First off: Villa Away fans were out of control. If anyone was watching it on Sky, I was on TV first row Green number 10 NY Jets Jersey.

After the match things got ridiculous. Blues fans invaded the pitch and moron Villa fans threw all kinds of shit towards the field trying to hit blues fans....essentially hitting Villa fans in first few rows and stewards, pathetic. I saw at least a dozen stewards or fans bleeding from their heads. I asked a steward when we'd be let out of the stadium and as he leaned in to tell me he was struck in the head by a chair and knocked to the ground. The flare was after all this. Pathetic behaviour, seriously. I'd never recommend taking a wife, gf or children. My blues fan friend told me good thing the Villa lost. He's probably right, there would have been complete insanity.

We were kept in the parking lot for another 30 mins.

As we were approaching the street that turns right towards Digbeth a group of 20 blues fans outside some dodgy ass bar tried picking a fight and a huge 50+ people brawl ensued. Cars reversed back up the road to get out of the way. 0 police. They just escorted us just past mcdonalds and that what it. Fing worthless.

As I made my way past Digbeth towards the bullring we passed some shady bar with bars on the windows. As I was crossing the street someone asked me the score ( wasnt wearing villa colors). I said 2-1 and he punched me in the face. I was surrounded by this 40 year old guy and 4 chav teenagers with diamond earrings and highlights.

I told them to relax and walked away, realizing if I fought back I would have gotten a beatdown from 30plus people who were standing outside the bar. I got hit a few times, kicked in the balls....then dazed crossed the street to catch up with the rest of the group.

My Jaw hurts and I have a cut or 2 on my face...but I'll survive. I was kinda dazed, thinking whether or not to fight back or run away across the street and maybe thats why i was hit again.

Anyways, all of this is going down and the stupid police helicopters are saying "this is the police, you are being recorded" Big frigging help they were. What a joke. Ive been in Birmingham for 4 months now and this was my first taste of Yobs or chavs or whatever u call them.

England's world cup bid. YEAH RIGHT, a big lol to that. Ridiculous really.

Oh, and the result was shit.

**** hell dude hope ya have a few whiskys after that ...no need for that shit at all ....You were right not to throw back

I just kinda feel like a p*ssy for not fighting back, but it probably would have been a lot worse for me if i had done. Really frustrating. Literally 14 yo teens, what a joke.

You did the right thing mate. You've got the total moral high ground on this, and it sounds like your restraint has stopped a possible major incident.

Yeah, I guess...but it wouldve been nice to have ripped off their earrings and feed them to them. But then again getting put in the hospital after a severe beatdown by dozens of people and getting on the news for being an American beat up by hooligans aint my cup of tea. Still sucks.

Embarasing seeing the behaviour of some of the villa fans. Whether we win or lose on the pitch, we should always maintan our dignity. The clearings in the woods who acted like that just drag our club down to the inbreds level.[/quote

The people throwing the seats were freaking morons. As stewards got hit and cut, knocked out etc. people around us were laughing and cheering. What wastes of life.

I seriously fear for the future of the world sometimes. Did anyone catch me on TV? It's the only positive from a bad night, well that and my first pre match angus pie.

Don't let it play on your mind, I'm sure most of us have been in similar situations. Better to live and fight another day sometimes. I'm just sorry that you had to experience such behaviour from citizens of my city. They really do bring nothing but shame on our great city.

Mate you definitely did the right thing. I was lucky enough to get away without encountering the kind of mindless violence you did.

It took a brave person to have the will to react like you did. You should be proud of yourself. I know I and many other Aston Villa fans will be.

Just got back myself, I now have a nice 3 or 4 stitches just above my right eyebrow, and our away fans are a **** disgrace, an old lady got injured as well, yes the City fans started it, but the thugs that claim they're Villa 'fans' were the ones with the flares, a great cup tie ruin by mindless shits.

I don't understand why some villa thought it would be a good idea to lob seats from the back of the away end, all they're going to do is hit other Villa! It was just **** stupid, if you really want to throw seast at words removed on the pitch then at least go close enough to them.

the flare was definately ours, i saw it go up and it happened last season when we won 1-0.

didnt see any trouble outside as i got picked up at the island, but they did seem to just leave everyone else once they got to there. villa fans at the back of the stand were **** stupid, throwing chairs at their own fan's heads at the bottom.

All kicked off outside the Dubliner from what I saw. The Villa fans who were having a go at the Clement's Arms were shoved down the road by the police, right outside the Irish Centre. What the **** were they doing? The naivety of the police was ridiculous. Took me an hour and 45 minutes to get from the sty to New Street. **** farcial.

BTW Yankee, I saw you on the way out of the ground.

If you provoke a very passionate crowd, there are bound to be ones who don't see the sense in not reacting wildly.

Yankee.. You definitely did right! Sucks right now but definitely right.

I'd never ever go to that ground pretty much because of the reasons that were evident tonight.

How i have made it home in one piece really is beyond me.

Escorted to the island and thats it off you go. Walking towards Digbeth not a copper in sight, blues charging and villa, the villa running at blues. Few minutes later police turn up in serious numbers (10 vans, probably 100 on foot, dogs the lot) Anyway they all start walking up through digbeth, me and my mate hung back and walked alongside some police and about 100yards infront of us you can see blues fans in numbers and villa fans running back towards us and a stupid copper says "what are you doing stood here get moving forwards" to which i replied something like "are you f'in mad, its easy for you to say that with all that kit on" he went on to say soon they would be letting the dogs loose and i'd get bitten. Me and my mate turned round got off the main road and walked to town.

Just heard off my mate who walked through digbeth. We smashed up a couple of pubs, outside one the was about 100 blues fans who got set upon and chased away. We smased them all over digbet high street.
