I don't miss going down to the Villa. Barely missed a home game from 1990 to about 2002. Then just started going less and less. Now if I see one game a season, that's it.

This.

I started going with Dad, late 60s. First went on my own in 1975. Missed probably half a dozen home games from 1976 til Lamebert bored me out of Villa Park.

He did me a favour really. saves money, no going out in shit weather, no red-misted anger at another defeat. Radio comms for me.

Anyhoo....things that cheer me up? The absolute desperation in the transfer thread...

i did 8 years, 4 of them home and about 50% away, pre season the lot, loved it, win or lose on the booze, away games were like stag dos with a game of football usually ruining the day, I fell asleep drunk at about 6 games in the relegation year

relegation obviously impacted me, the 3 and out rule (southampton away 6-1 im in the pub after 20 minutes) euro 2016 watching England and not enjoying it did too, nantes away with the French police words removed was a big impact, lost my enjoyment of it, the heavy drinking started to creep in to the home games, did Leeds at home I think something like the 28th December a couple of years back, left the house at 10am to the pub, got home at 5am

it became about drinking more than it was about football

other half is off on her friend's hen do. House to myself for the weekend! Marvelous. Nothing wild, but I might enjoy a binge watch of a show or film I know she'd never be interested in,  have a rare bahs on the ps3, assassins creed for a few hours, or read uninterrupted for a good long while with a whiskey for company. Feeling snugly comfortable just thinking about.

Idiot neighbor in his vroom vroom  rear wheel drive car not understanding how to get out of our apartment parking lot this morn with 5" of fresh snow down. While various old ladies etc., got into their cars and zoomed off. Fantastic entertainment... and he gave up after an hour, an hour. Darwin award winner.

Whitby, yesterday. Bracing sea air. Perfect!

Ah yes, been there. Couple of years back, went out on the pirate boat trip. It was **** boiling hot and had way too many tourists. Like an upmarket Blackpool.

Finding my wallet after spending an hour trying to find the bastard.  It was in the cupboard of course!  **** knows why I put it there.

I'm the same about my phone. The sheer panic that goes through me if I think it's lost - not for my inability to make calls but all the other stuff i have on it - documents, emails, to use it as a method of contactless payment; incriminating pics of @Xela.....that sort of stuff.
