jeckell
Thought Bannan was superb, still quite shocked to see man u official giving quite a glowing review of Bannan. He at least deserves to be on the bench on Saturday.
GaztonVilla
Seriously though, can Stewart Downing offer anything that Barry Bannan doesn't? I'd like to see little Barry given a run in the first team playing in a central midfield trio in front of of NRC and Petrov. From what I've seen he seems to have a really good understanding with Albrighton, and with Gabby and Ashley Young also having a very good understanding of each others games, I think this may work better than playing Downing who, while showing glimpses of what he's capable of, still looks a shadow of his former self. The other advantage is that Bannan puts himself about better than Downing and is not afraid to get stuck in. He also works hard to get the ball back when he loses it which is one of Downings very weak points. You clearly didn't see Downing's performance vs Stoke. Daholteend
I am happy for BB. I have read Scott's reserve reports over the last couple of seasons and BB has always figured prominently. I hope he continues to get better and would be delighted if his game got so strong that he becomes a first team regular. Keep it going BB! Well done on the hattrick that spoiled Bebe's debut with ManU.
Maradona10
Theres a big difference between reserves and first team, just take a look at our reserve manager.

BOF Posted September 27, 2010 Author Moderator Share Posted September 27, 2010 Dublin-born defender, Daniel Devine makes his first start of the season tonight after patiently waiting as an unused sub for the first 3 games of the season. Sebastian Jenkins makes his first appearance in the squad, taking Devine's matchday place on the bench. Ciaran Clark doesn't play but Nathan Baker comes back in for the first time since the opening day. Hat-trick hero Bannan drops out and Salifou & Osbourne continue their partnership in midfield along with the ever-present Hogg and Samir Carruthers who will hope to add to his goal last time he played. Parish continues in goal and the front-line will see Collins junior partnered by Arsenio Halfhuid.
OutByEaster? Posted September 27, 2010 Moderator Share Posted September 27, 2010 Be interesting to see how they respond to having their manager back too. Sadly I can't make tonights game - bah.
OutByEaster? Posted September 27, 2010 Moderator Share Posted September 27, 2010 1-0 up, Baker injured though - he's not the most robust that lad. Bullet of an effort by Berry apparently. *EDIT* Half time now, Craig Gordon in goal for them and Osbourne having a blinder in the midfield according to the OS. fantram
1-1 at home to Sunderland is a disappointing result for Big Mac's first game back in charge - particularly after the 4-0 and 1-4 wins over Blackpool and ManUre
