Perfect set up, barely contributed all season as a record signing and they still win the title.

Makes no difference if he is there or not and the feeling of winning the Prem won't even match the play off final win and I reckon deep down he will feel that.

So do we get anything for them winning the title?

Don't see why we would as they paid the release clause there would be zero need for them to add extra incentives in.

There is the rumour we get £15m for it. But just can't see any sensible reason why that would be the case.

They had to offer 100m cash to trigger it, its possible we let them pay it over a few years but there's no way the base fee is 75m and then the rest is decided on the success of the player. Transfers can work like that, but we had no reason to do that in this situation.

Jack vindicated.

Winning the title as a squad player>>>finishing 14th

Really happy for him.

Most definitely if you're an average player. But as a world class player, surely you'd want to contribute more to a title win? All the talent in the world and he's pretty much just a cheerleader that's sometimes used for spare parts in the biggest machine in football.

World class players don't want to finish 14th either

He got one of the goals in the recent comeback against West Ham which he’ll reasonably point to as a crucial contribution.

But I think he would be lying to himself if said his own involvement for his first title win/domestic honour has gone how he imagined it would.

All depends on how happy a player is playing a reduced role in successful side. Different for every player I guess.

Right, it's not one or the other though. Lots of other places he could have went and been a major player and challenged for a trophy.
