Just shows what a balls up Southgate made of the final. Very frustrating. Of course at some point I'm sure he'll cite the Man City effect. I know hes a nice guy but deserves to be panned. He’s a snake… To be honest, getting butt-hurt because a player joined a better club is a bit silly. Its a game at the end of day, one we all love, but players move on. I probably made the mistake of getting too invested in him, being 'one of us' etc. Won't do that again! We all support the club. Not individual players. He is the epitome of a “game changer” player, where some individual moments of brilliance wins you the game. I don’t hate him for wanting to win trophies and play with the best players in European competition. I can also understand how the money offered by City turned his head. Why wouldn’t it? Earn say £12m a year with Villa or £20m a year with City over a six year contract. He can indulge his friends and family and take care of them all financially whilst living the best life possible. Plus his marketing value will have increased ten fold and we’ll no doubt see him regularly on TV and online advertising, plus magazines and papers etc. I don’t see him as a snake but I do think his departure from Villa could have been done better.
