I'm disappointed Jack appears to be off, and however much he's been indulged we as fans have been similarly indulged also. In three years we've gone from Steve Bruce middle of the championship to looking like being a top half of the premier league contender. Jack's a big reason why we got here, and certainly why we're still here. I think the reason that it hurts so much is that Jack truly is a generational talent. We've not had one of those at Villa Park for a very, very long time. We might not see another for a good while. He genuinely had a chance to lead us as captain into an incredible few years for the club and that’s what hurts me about it - we are close to challenging! Hopefully we’ll continue to push on without him, the two big signings so far suggests that we will. Shame he couldn’t have given us another year or two of that 5 year contract before reevaluating and moving on if we hadn’t continued to improve. Trust Deano to not let this derail our season, we’ve got a great chance to start well given the fixtures so let’s not mope around and let’s push on and show that there is life after Grealish here! I'm disappointed we didn't push for 120-130mill. How do man city get away with spending 100mill on a player?
