Will go long mate, Kane is effecting it. We better hope Kane goes to City if we want to keep Jack I really do think that could be the key as City want and need a striker. I personally feel that talk of deadline is Grealish’s team (Stella) are pushing for the move because City’s board will not want to spend £260m in one summer without offloading £100m first such as Sterling and Fernandez. I’m still 95% sure he’s off told Friday.

pictures mean nothing Jack is a pro and will conduct himself as such.

Your sources are fooling you.

Everything you have been told and relayed to us has been completely wrong.

They are setting you up for embarrassment and you deserve better than that because nobody believes what you are telling us anymore because it’s constantly wrong.

You need to have a word with your sources, because they are either playing you or don’t have contacts themselves.  Your information constantly being wrong when those days happen has destroyed your credibility on this topic.

Yeah, it's not to say that all these outlets are 100% accurate. But way too many have said the same thing. The information about the the bid has clearly come out from one side. Probably city's side.

More than that JV, most articles are simply reports of another article. It's recycled nonsense.

One thing for certain, whatever happens with this saga. Sam Lee needs to reconsider his career choice. As a journalist you surely must remain an impartial onlooker reporting facts, that are known to you, to the best of your ability. Ignore the noise. The man has vested too much emotional energy and stock into a event that he has no control over. His overinflated sense of importance has grown uncontrollably. He has courted and indulged in 'abuse' and now seems to want to play a martyr to a cause. It is a football transfer not the striking of a peace accord between Israel and Palestine. Further to that, you are merely reporting on it. You are not involved in the outcome or the process in anyway.

He was a previous Man City correspondent for goal.com. He may have connections. The athletic itself has team specialist journalist to report tactics and transfers.

Ill accept the click bait content and non comittal wording deminish value, as used by all journos.

Fine to question his content, his profession, his merit but as mentioned before he’s a friend of mine and the abuse thrown at him by villa fans has been poor, disgusting from what hear but havnt seen.

Same for all clubs and fans, would we rather have no one throwing us bits they know, hear or even suspect?

Edit: and just to keep on topic, I have thought Grealish was going but Kane seemed the logical step for City this season. Grealish next.

It’s different nowadays, that’s what people want. They can always hide behind “anything can happen with transfers” get-out card

I suppose it isn't really a get out card. It is just a fact.

My point was he should have just reported what he reported from his City source and the proviso that he didn't know how Villa would respond. Man City are confident of getting the deal done. Representatives from Grealish are giving them positive signals. Yet to be seen how this will be handled at Villa, clearly they want to keep their captain. Instead he seemed to report with certainty and arrogance. Maybe it is the tribal aspect of Athletic reporting. Each journalist reporting on a specific club. Worse still, he then proceeded to start a back and forth with Villa Twitter, petty remarks about the fanbase being 'a weird cult', sneering at the owners and club, replying to unrelated articles with sarky unprofessional comments relating to the fanbase (these are the only things I've actually noticed). Then he circled back to play a victim. Indulging in it. I do not know the man but he has come across as both unprofessional and attention seeking.

I suspect when this whole saga is complete we will have a piece: The emotional toll the Jack Grealish transfer had on Sam Lee: In my words. FWIW, this whole thing, coupled with below par journalism from Evans, has led me to cancel my subscription to the Athletic.

What's in it for the club to have Jack around pre-season preparations if he's definitely off?

Surely, if that were the case, he's effectively a player for another team.

Of course that happens. But I see little indication that this is bullshit and no one has picked up on it.

It serves no purpose for us to allow this circus around our pre season plans. If there was no truth to this bid, we would 100% get that message out. I'm surprised so many people think we wouldn't.

All these people with their ITK bullshit.

Even Jack doesn’t know if he’s going, how the **** can anyone else.

There’s a bunch of planets that need to line up for it to work.

Anyone claiming to be ITK is either making it up, or whoever told them is making it up.

Also anyone wanting a quick ending to this is deluded.  If he was 100% going, he’d have gone by now. If he was 100% staying he’d have signed a monster contract by now.

This is going to drag on until city have failed in whatever their plan A is.

For me it’s clear, Jack would prefer a move to city, but staying is not a bad fall back.

Oh right, so he didn't go up there at the weekend and then sign yesterday or today then?

From the guy who has ambiguous links and then tries to connect them to 15 yr old signings.  Also medical is booked but for either tomo or Thursday, then it’s not booked.  Plus weren’t the reports that Man City had a placeholder for a medical.  Another ITK that isn’t in the know.

I wasn't actually referring to this situation per se, just more the cycle of articles during silly season.

In the Sun "the Mail is reporting that...." but we'll throw some shit in there too. The next article is says "the Sun is reporting about...."

Keep going until Jack Grealish is getting a purple monkey dishwasher.

imo His mind was made up during the Euro's....He had plenty of time and advisors( team mates) to guide him.

Its not his decision holding things up, its the manner in which Man city want to pay us, is my guess.

Do you think he would be gone if it wasn't for Man City's staggered payment proposal then?

I'm assuming from your replies you believe he doesn't want to be here anymore.

Yes, it was well known that Citeh had one ready to go. It’s also well known that every transfer has a medical so the hooplah around this medical thing is weird.

Something has changed recently with Villa, i could put money on Percy announcing nearly all our signings in the NSWE era.  He wasn't 1st to Young,  nor Bailey.

He also said Cash would be signing a new contract - he hasn’t.

Wasn’t that the Romano bloke, an apparently top ITK who said that crap?
