Shitty's priority is clearly a striker over a playmaker as they don't currently have a good striker. No way they can afford to buy Kane and Grealish and NOT sell at least a couple of players for mega money. Yes, they would need to sell to stay in line with FFP...but, FFP doesn't apply to them does it.

Wurzel
I don't like the assumption that Jack will only stay at Villa if he is paid more money. This is his boyhood club, he is not likely to screw it over for money. He will be interested in the direction of the club, which is obviously the right way. If that changes he could leave at any point. Therefore logic says this is just nonsense. jack is going nowhere.

Could do with him telling Jack he’s better off staying at Villa. And if him, Stones, Walker or Foden say anything different, they’ll have Tyrone to answer to Probably why Sterling doesnt pass to him. PieFacE Posted June 25, 2021 VT Supporter Share Posted June 25, 2021 I trust NSWE to convince him to stay. They haven't let us down yet and I'm sure they will do everything in their power to make it happen.

After this season he'd only have 3 years left on his contract. Much rather give him another extension and another one after that to prevent any funny business from taking place.

If he signs a new contract he will go from 120k a week to 200k plus. Personally if I were him at this moment in his career I would leave, record fee for the buying and selling club, British record. They won't be paying less than us to him and he will finally compete for trophies. Your a blue nose!!! Firstly you want the club to move nearer to the shithole down the road and now sell Jack. GTFOH.

I never understand this, he's young playing for his boyhood club heading towards the higher end of the biggest league in the world, captain, has attained international recognition now. He's going to get a massive payrise, massive commercial deals, can get anything he wants from the club, the club revolves around him, he's by his family and he loves the Villa. This as children is all most of us ever wanted and he's living it, he is living his (and our) dreams. My dream was to play, captain and be the superstar for Villa as a child (and adult ) and drive them to the top, my dream wasnt as soon as I had established myself at Villa to then move to another club and win trophies. Jack will have had the same desire, being a Villa fan all his life. Yes playing with KDB and winning trophies is great and ultimately what people want to do but how much that child wants to do it with Villa and being the focus of everybody at Villa is a massive pull. He could even spend a year or two more at Villa then move to an elite club but with everything going on at the Villa at the moment and his status, playing and earning at the Villa, why the hell would you want to leave. I would also argue for his career staying here another season or so will help. He's still learning at this level which is amazing but Villa are doing everything to aid that but he's only had two (what I would call) adult seasons in the PL (ignoring pre relegation) and so he's still learning. Going to Man City, he could easily flop, could easily not get much game, could easily be stifled....he should succeed but big players have failed before Torres at Chelsea for example. Whereas at Villa he will only get better, not only because he naturally will get better but because we put better players around him. As for money who cares if it's a British record, we dont need it, we dont want it and if anything it wouldnt cover the value that we get for Grealish being at the club both on and off the pitch from playing getting us up the league, the additional games on tv because of him, the commercial revenue from his shirts, attendances and general marketing and finally Jack will attract top class talent to the club because he's here. So the money wouldnt be enough! Edited June 25, 2021 by nick76 7

It would be unfair to expect him to forgo career earnings in the name of loyalty.

I just think it is not about money for Jack and the insinuation that it is does him a disservice. If it was cash he was after he would have forced a move two years ago and then got another this season. It isn't about the cash. He has more than enough time to see what happens at his club in the next two years and then decide if he needs to leave to win medals.
