Nothing really changed when Jack came on against Scotland.

This is a system and a lack of coaching problem not a personell problem.

It’s both to be honest. You’re underestimating Mr Southgate. He doesn’t just coach badly he picks the wrong players to coach too. He could comfortably be the worst manager England have ever had. He’s certainly got it in his locker.

Is anyone else starting to worry that Jacks shin problem is permanent and that if we could still get £100m it might be the right time to sell and push harder for the likes of mcneill, saka or smith rowe?  I know he's only recently started playing and hence isnt back 100%, but if he's not able to train 100% then how's he going to get the level of fitness he needs.   I don't want any of this to be true so feel free to slate it but deep down I have a niggle and I cant shake it.

It would also explain why he's not starting for England to some extent, although I don't think Southgate would play him anyway given his plan A, B & C is runners in  behind.

And convinced him to tolerate playing with an inadequate supporting cast, including the bane of my basketballing existence, Brook Lopez.

Now you’ve lost me but I think I get the gist of what you’re saying. Jack is going nowhere. Especially now that the supporting cast is on the rise too.

That’s a very important point. I think keeping him sends out all the right messages as well as his obvious importance to the squad. But there’s a tipping point that will be influenced by what the medical staff know. It must also be recognised that he and any other player could get a career ending injury at anytime. Sell and replace with 3 or 4 extremely good players spreads that risk. It’s a football/business decision and not an easy one.

I don’t think City or any other club for that matter will spend over £100m on a player who isn’t fully fit. Anyone who would want to sign him will be well aware of his injury and have the best specialist in the world look at it. No chance he would pass a medical if he isn’t 100%.

The club definitely blocks it.

He's not going anyway.

It's an insane compliment to Jack if Pep is ready to break the bank in order to get him.

Because of his love of KDB Citeh is the only team i can see him signing for in England if he choose to leave.

Best thing is if he stays at Villa. Second best thing is him going abroad. Seeing him play for another English team would be heartbreaking.

But we have to be realistic here. We can't keep hovering around mid table. Jack needs to play at the biggest stage and in the Champions League. Do people not think he feels jealous when he is at England and seeing his mates or close friends playing Champions League finals and stuff?

We need to make huge steps this season and i'm starting to think even top 6 won't be enough if we want to keep him.

Yeah we’ve been hovering round mid table since May. Wake up Villa!

One season we’ve been midtable

Pep has said in the same interview and other times that Jack would be too expensive for Manchester

Then in another paper they say City main target is Kane.  It’s just fake speculation

and before 19/20 season he averaged only being fit less than two-thirds of seasons

No I want Jack to stay.  Having Jack only fit two-thirds of any season is more beneficial than most players for a full season.

Aside from that he attracts other players to the club, lifts the profile of the club, brings in more commercial revenue for the club.  Jack’s value to the club has become more than just what he does on the pitch.

If Grealish goes to Man City, and I do think it’s possible, I wouldn’t want 120+ million, i’d want players in return.

In that case, we will take Foden, De Bruyne, Fernandinho and Zinchenko.

It is permanent. He had a fantastic game. Completed 2 dribbles in 27 minutes more than the rest of the team combined in the previous 150 minutes. Won 4 free kicks. And had 87.5% passing accuracy. Not his fault that his teammates made no runs to open up the defence.

Jack getting a new 250k per week contract is far more likely than him leaving this summer.

That is essentially what all this is leading up to. It all began with his agent a few weeks ago poking his head above the parapet. There was no need to do that if his ambition is to leave the club, it's posturing.

As far as I can tell nobody serious has suggested he's off. This latest round of rumours all stems from one line in a Telegraph article which reads:

Quote

City are also looking at midfielder Jack Grealish, Kane’s international team-mate, in a deal with Aston Villa that would break the Premier League transfer record. Negotiations are expected to be more straightforward than trying to land the Spurs player.

Ok pal. Sure thing.

What was Grealish's agent saying recently?

I want him to stay but I have had these thoughts as well.

He hasn't looked right in any game since coming back from injury though. Including the two MOTM performances for England.

I think 20 years ago he'd be in real trouble but with medical facilities as they are at clubs now, it should be manageable.

The other thing on this is that if City are willing to spend £100m on him, it can't be a huge thing. And they are coming for him.

Some needless fluff interview. I don't remember precisely now but it was along the lines of "Jack loves it at Villa but you never know *winkwinknudgenudge*". It was less of a come-get-me plea and more of a come-pay-me one, IMO of course.

Let's also be honest, Jack Grealish is a objectively a better player now than he was 10 months ago. He has earned it.

I don't think Jack has been quite the Jack we know and come to love, since the West Ham & Brighton games, where they doubled up on him and that was just before his injury was announced.

All of which will have been coached by the best in the game.

None of the players that would do that to us would come or be allowed to leave Man City. Who would be on the list that is somewhere near realistic?

Ake, Fernandinho, Sterling and either Mendy or Zinchenko?

Not in exchange for Jack.

I got more from that interview that the agent was gutted he wasn’t going to get a big agent fee from Jack moving but trying to to convince himself that 1% chance might happen so left the door open.

Not in exchange for Jack.

Mendy - no thanks, terrible player.

Sterling - no thanks, an illusion of a player.

Ake - is he any better than Konsa?

Fernandinho - however good he is, i wouldnt include a 35 year old in a deal for Jack.

Zinchenko - good player, but not a critical position for us right now.

Basically, lets just keep Jack, tyvm.
