If you look at the last 5 played for all teams we are tied 15th with Burnley in the form table on 5 points out of 15.

Only Wolves, Sheffield, Fulham and Newcastle are worse.

Ye that sounds more realistic.

I know I think it's because they're measuring it by 'gameweeks' and therefore haven't included one of the games which we played in the last five that would have been our game in hand. Although I think the overall point of the post is still pretty much true though, our form without Grealish has been pretty much as it was whilst he was still playing going back ten or twelve games, maybe further, and we are getting better at coping without him.

We do rely on Jack lately it's true. However, we have a solid back 5 and the makings of a decent midfield and attack. We just need the defensive and creative specialists ( CAM and CDM ) one hell of a RW and competition and potentially a partner for Watkins. Plus full backs.

Work to do,  but doable.

It feels to me that we roughly score one less goal per game without Jack.

The defence remains consistent whether Jack plays or not, we generally concede one goal per game, which is top four quality from a defensive point of view.

I bet if you added one goal per game to each of the last 7 games Jack hasn't played in, our points per game would go up to the level that we were at for the season before his injury. Might be wrong, as I say, just the impression I get from results.

But you know that we arent one of the form teams in the division, even if they dont. We didnt win a game last month and we scored one goal.

So to answer your point, the form isnt the same, we dont win as many without Grealish.

The 10 or 12 game comparison is being selective as that coincides with the period that we had Covid, and played away at the top 2 teams in the league.

If I'm to be selective I'd say minus that 15 min spell v Fulham we are currently one of the weakest teams in the division going forward, which is the mirror opposite of us for the majority of the season.

I didn't say we win as many games without Grealish, I said that our current form began whilst he was still in the team, going back at least twelve games maybe even more, over the last 6/8/19/12 games our average position as been midtable. Also it's true to say that we're getting better at coping without Grealish in the team, we've taken eight points from the seven games that he's missed, which isn't great, but previously we were averaging less than a point when he didn't play. So my point does still stand, regardless of whether we're one of the form teams or not.

What eviddnce is there to suggest jack is in rehab? He's been putting photos up of him at home with his feet up watching football, doing interviews, at VP watching 1st team and academy games and training last week. I thought you were pretty much locked away in  rehab centre for addictions.

Apart from that, the only other pointers are that he crashed his car last year and was photographed pissed on holiday as a teenager.

If thats the case every single poster on here is in rehab.

He's injured ffs.

What evidence is there that he isn't in rehab? Someone wrote on the internet that he is, so it must be true. What other evidence do you need?

12th if go by last 6 games which is what is commonly used. Still should be better considering we played Newcastle and Sheffield United in that time.  Smith was right when he said most the league is struggling to find form at the moment bar Man City.

It's the premier form is always tough to string together for most teams. I would say that it isn't just Covid that's done this but a change in the league itself and competition has ramped up. Big clubs are even finding it tougher to win at a constant rate they would of easy dominated more games of seasons ago. Clubs are keeping there players more, managers and tactics have gotten better and I feel were going to see more seasons like this where form is tough to find and games can't be strung together in a row like they used to.

So the Smith press conference bingo- 'Jack has been training well this week' 'He is getting to full fitness and we will review on Saturday'  'Its not the same injury as last time' 'Yes he will be fit for the Euros' .

Wonder how he's feeling about Mount and Foden scoring on the big stages. Must be difficult knowing he has the ability to do what they do, and arguably more. I think his love for Villa will outweigh that desire while we have a leadership that is moving us in the right direction.

Bet he can't wait to be back playing.

All this talk about a "one man team" can also apply to other teams like "Tottingham" for example without Harry Kane they would be in the bottom half of the table...
