Brumstopdogs Posted February 28, 2021 Share Posted February 28, 2021 After the Brighton performance Mings was quite vocal about how we lacked intensity and enthusiasm in that game - in reference to the midfield and attack being poor that day. So yeah could be a bit of a dig that the set of players vs Leeds put a real shift in and that has to be the minimum we need to do if we want to get results in this league. Once Jack is back in the team it will give even more competition for places with the people coming in hopefully continuing to impress. UTV! If it's meant to be a message to those out of the team then at most it's we all need to get our heads down and work hard. For me though it was more of a 'we are not a one man team'! Jack is the best we have for sure, but there are extremely few players in the world who can carry an entire team all on their own, with absolutely no help at all. Likewise, there's not many professional footballers playing in a top league who are completely and utterly hopeless at football. If they were, how would they get to that point in the first place? Boiling us down to a one man team is merely a simple way for opposition fans to put us down. Barkley has come here with less hunger than I thought he would. You're right he has to learn these basics. Sanson was great in his cameo. I wonder what difference Dean Smith could have made to a 21 year old Ross Barkley if he'd had him for 2/3 years.
