Popular Post sne
Top-10 players outside the big-6 according to F365. Quote 10) Adama Traore 9) Lukasz Fabianski 8 Abdoulaye Doucoure 7) Danny Ings 6) Lucas Digne 5) Wilfried Zaha 4) Jamie Vardy 3) Joao Moutinho 2) James Maddison 1) Jack Grealish To think that some doubted whether Grealish could hack it in the Premier League. The Championship’s best player took less than half a season to become one of the best in the Premier League and one that would not look out of place in any of the big six sides. Grealish has grown up since his early days in the Villa first team and is now the undisputed leader of the team. This season, only Kevin De Bruyne has created more chances for team-mates from open play, while the City star is the only midfielder to outscore the Villa captain. Grealish cops plenty of flak for going to ground too easily, but he’s either harshly judged or very good at it, since no player has been fouled more. Wilf Zaha is the second most fouled player, 20 behind having played two games more. There is a wonderful maturity about Grealish’s game now. Creating chances and scoring goals is wonderful but almost as crucial for Villa is his ability to drag his side up the pitch and earn some respite for his defence. That diligence is reflected off the pitch, where Grealish does his homework on each opponent: “I know in advance the player I’m coming up against in the next game, whether they will be strong, fast, easy to get at, technically good or bad,” he told The Athletic. “If I’m up against a fast, strong player, I change my game. I move it quicker and play one-twos to get around him.” https://www.football365.com/news/top-ten-best-players-outside-the-premier-leagues-big-six 6

Popular Post tinker Posted January 14, 2020 VT Supporter Popular Post Share Posted January 14, 2020 Watching Grealish playing is more or less the only highlight of this team. He's effort levels alone should should shame 95% of the squad. Smith is very lucky to have him available, if he gets injured we are relegated.
Delphinho123
He probably feels the same as we do. Frustrated beyond belief. In fact, he probably posts on here. I think he's Screwdriver. 1
Blasterpocket68
Whatever happens we survive or not Jack has to leave the end of the season. He must pull that shirt on he loves and look around the pitch at his team mates and think (I wonder what clown is capable of supporting or understanding me today ) He is completely different class . If or when he goes he should with all our full support. Lets enjoy him for the reminder of the season.

I firmly believe he can go on to be one of the best players in the world. He isn't going to do that at Villa, sadly.
sir_gary_cahill
For the older posters, is Jack Grealish better Gordon Cowans? I never saw Cowans for Villa, I’m too young, Noel said to me on the phone that Grealish is the best player he’s ever seen in the academy, do other posters agree? I want your views, answers on a postcard please

kidlewis
I think it’s likely he goes in the summer, we need to stay up not just for our own club but it means those buying him need to stump a monumental cheque to get him. sets us up if we spend wisely and allows jack to further his career. But he had options and was surrounded by great players. I think a better comparison is Brian Little. Up till Jack he was the most skillful player I ever saw in a Villa shirt and scored more than his fair share of goals. I am not certain which is best. Jack is obviously hamstrung by the ***** around him and I still don’t think we have seen the best of him. Hopefully we can get out of this mess and see him be even better for Villa. Unfortunately that legend will never stand up to the talent that exists in Jack Grealish imo. Brilliant player though and as Mike says pinpoint accuracy was his forte. Loved by all, respected by all and everything that you want those that put the shirt on to be. He was superb. I had this discussion with my old man the other day though and we discussed the Little vs Grealish argument. I think we both came to the conclusion that although Little was class he was also lazy at times. More my dad actually as I don't remember Little as well as he did. We both agreed that Grealish is on another level for his all round game and will possibly disappear into the clouds if his current trajectory continues. In the modern game he is a serious gem of a player.
Lord Willard
If we stay up we definitely need to start purchasing quality over quantity. In the summer unfortunately we need to do the latter. We need a quality young prospect like Piatek etc. Otherwise he would be best for his career to move on to progress himself. He doesn't deserve to be in the same team as Taylor and Nakamba etc Edited January 17, 2020 by Lord Willard
Popular Post Pimlico_Villa
Now knowing that we can’t stay up, I’d take £40M for him now. Playing him for rest of season just means we run the risk of him picking up an injury and not being sold in the summer.
