Lichfield Dean Posted December 1, 2019 VT Supporter Share Posted December 1, 2019 Where on earth has this idea come from that he is a Utd fan? I've seen several people mention it today on twitter.
useless
He belongs to a rare order of athletes that transcend monetary value and even the very concept of money, it's almost sacrilege to assign any kind of transfer fee to his name.

Zatman
Just the 7 fouls on him today, its pathetic at this stage
Zhan_Zhuang
Was it three yellows for players fouling Grealish today? He must be currently the most in-form player in the PL.

He is up against rotational fouling in every single game he plays. Maybe football could adopt a rugby-style approach to this cynical tactic. "Your team has committed multiple identical offences in the last X minutes (i.e. cheap shots on Grealish). The next person to commit the same offence gets an automatic yellow. Don't care if it's his first transgression." It would at least give the opposition pause for thought.

I said a similar thing today. More in our own control, we need to be making better use of set pieces (as against Newcastle) from those fouls. We know we will get bucket loads of free kicks - have to make them count.
Hornso
That peach of a goal was his 20th for Villa.

No, people actually thought he was that. I'm not misremembering.
screwdriver
If Villa ever sell Grealish it will prove these guys are no better than Lerner or Ellis happy to flog the best players to Keep the bean counters happy. We've had local lads break through before Daley, Hendrie and Vassel all decent but no one who was good enough to be a big big star on the world stage. We won't ever get sucess unless we can put some quality in and around grealish. Better wingers and a better striker. we are not a million miles away. Just £90million away. KMitch
He’s so good... Not going to lie, when those photos of Jack surfaced during our relegation season, where he as passed out on a boozer after one of our losses, I had written him off as another Stephen Ireland. I thought he was just another talented youngster who got all the way to the Premier League on natural ability and wasn’t ready to put the work in that is needed to be a great player. Boy, I’m glad I was wrong! He is looking like a true world class player at times this season. I’m in awe and just glad he is one of ours!

What a ratio that is......(especially when it was 9 in 71 under the previous guys) ( * pedant note......he has scored 2 in the Cup which count towards the 11, but he didn’t start those games. )
mikeyp102
I think one of the biggest and best things to happen to Jack was that kidney injury. It seemed to wake him into realising his potential. He worked hard on his physical attributes as well during that time (Oli Stephenson deserves a lot of praise here as well) and came back a different player. Its a privilege to watch him play for us.

When he came back from that injury he played an absolutely flawless season. That's when I realized how good he actually was. But it was only the Championship. The fact that he's now hitting similar heights in the PL this season which is just ridiculous.
Junxs
If I was him and didn't get an England call up before the Euros, I'd switch to Ireland
Popular Post OutByEaster? Posted December 2, 2019 Moderator Popular Post Share Posted December 2, 2019 A couple of things that occurred to me about Jack during the night! Firstly McGinn - he started the season in a cape, absolutely dominating games and looking a huge threat going forward, his more recent efforts, whilst still decent haven't hit those heights, he's looked more like a good footballer than a superhero with a hobby. What's changed during that period is that Grealish has moved away from being next to him in midfield to being out on the left and I wonder if we underestimate the positive effect Grealish has on McGinn when he's in the middle; his intelligence on the ball, his ability to move it and his ability to find space for others all serve to make McGinn a better player. I think they have a positive effect on Targett too down the left, but I don't think we should underestimate the effect Jack has on McGinn's form, nor ignore what that should tell us about just how good Jack is. Secondly, the media - the poles are shifting, on TV, in the papers, everywhere you look, Jack has moved from being the "floppy-haired-talented-but-divey-short-socked-novelty" to being something that's altogether more respected or admired - pundits and journalists have undergone a sea change in the last few weeks and have finally picked up on the change that happened at the beginning of the year where Jack the lad became Jack the man. They're seeing what we've seen for a while, a maturity a talent and an ability to hugely influence game. He's now a star across the country, not just at Villa Park. That comes with a risk in how it will affect him, but I'm quietly confident he can deal with it. More importantly for our immediate fortunes, I think it will have an effect on the way he's refereed - last night on match of the day, they weren't talking about how easily he goes down, they were talking about teams having to foul him because it's the only way they can deal with him - that's a subtle but huge change in the way he's talked about and it's reflected in lots of parts of the media - referees live in the same world as the rest of us (except Kevin Friend obviously) and they'll see that, they'll read it, it'll affect them, they'll go into games thinking they have to protect this bright young star of English football rather than go into them thinking they have to keep an eye out for the antics of the kid with the silly hair. I think it'll make a difference. Look out for a plethora (thank you) of cards for fouls on him in upcoming games and a suddenly more protected Jack Grealish working with a tiny bit more room, it'll happen. 11
Delphinho123
Forget England, he’s one of the best players in the world right now. Would stroll into any team in the world.
