The RJW63 Official Jack Grealish Appreciation Thread

Think people worrying about Collymore are reading too much into it. He’s saying Jack won’t move anywhere to be a sub/rotation player. That’s good for us.

Not that I think he has any clue of course.

I know people are trying to come up with reasons why he shouldn't/won't leave but just because Southgate underused him that doesn't mean to say that Guardiola would do the same, he'd be starting most weeks for Man City as they'd know how to use him and he'd be more suitable for the football that they play.

Tthere's no way that Man City would pay the money that it would take to buy him just to be a bit part player, despite all their money they're not that kind of club, their record signing is Mahrez for around £60m, they're not going to beat that transfer record by who knows how much for a player that's just going to be a squad player or rotational option.

Basically he'd be a regular starter for them and would excel in their team, so these ideas that he'd be 'just another player' in their team of stars doesn't ring true to me, he'd be one of their best players.

Open the Tweet and look at the comments. The parallels are uncanny.

This feeling wont ever be felt by those ring chasers.

looking at you ofcourse. that 6-7 year journey going from 0 to 100 with the same franchise building trust and a foundation in the franchise rather than hopping from team to team picking up chips with all -nba teammates

No other fans will love you like we do. You can go somewhere else, but no one will ever know how they boo'd you, and then you decided you would make us love you. We do believe in you. You made us believe.

The Parallels are almost unbelievable aren't they!  That could be a direct message to Jack from any of us.

Eventually it does become a case of not being able to find someone of equal ability though. I.e. say we get 90mm for him (it's low but I like simple math). I don't think you can improve Villa by the same amount as you lost by buying 3 x 30mm players.

This isn't true. Just look at Leicester...they have sold the likes of Mahrez, Kante and Chillwell and have managed to improve their squad with smart, reasonable priced additions.

But they haven't come close to winning the league again and haven't even finished top 4 since selling their best players... we lose jack and we take so many steps backwards.. he's above Mahrez, Kante, and Chillwell in terms of value to us.

his reputation is so high,  he not only Is our best player, but he is our best selling point to buying better players.

Disagree with the bold. He was as important to that title winning side as Jack is to us.

Rest, agree.

He was key to then winning absolutely, but Kante doesn't attract other players to them like Grealish would to us. I meant value including those kind of intangible type elements. Fair that some may still disagree though.

You compare our form without Grealish and he is definitely worth as much to us as Kante was to Leicester in terms of results, if not more.

They've missed out on the Top 4 by a single place two seasons running (they finished four points adrift of Chelsea in 19/20 and only 1 point behind them last season). Plus they're the current F.A. Cup holders (beating Chelsea—aka the current European Champions—in the final). That's a high level of achievement with a solid suggestion of consistency about it.

But also a significant drop from winning the league... apply the same respective decline to our team (of their best league finished since winning) and we finish next season in the bottom 5.

Yes, we've already made one signing who will cover a lot of Jack's creativity, and look like we may be in for another in Leon Bailey... but still, Jack is the reason we could even consider attracting this callibre of player.

It's been reported that Buendia was told that Jack is not being sold this summer as part of our negotiations. He is worth more to us than any amount of cash.

Fair to say Leicester over achieved when they won, but to not finish top 4 since is a sign that even though they did well in getting replacements, they aren't as good as they were.

They won the FA Cup and have only just missed out on top 4 in the last two seasons.

Imagine if they strengthened and invested without selling them though 👀

of course the point is if they keep their better players they would have finished top 4.....

Kante, Chilwell ,Maguire Mahrez have all finished in the top 4 and played Champions league football with their new clubs since they left Leicester.
