ozvillafan Posted June 15, 2010 VT Supporter Posted June 15, 2010 Thought Germany looked the real deal last night. Compare their calm and composed style to the 'rabbitt in the headlights' that you saw from England. I agree that they played very well. They are the best team in the tournament so far, based on that performance. However, let's not overlook the fact that Australia were extremely poor and were giving Germany acres of space to play in. Aye. It was quite literally the worst performance I have seen from a Socceroos team in living memory. Even the German coach, Loew, has stressed that the victory over Australia was not a true indication of their form. Having said that, they were impressive and really should have scored more than 4.
YLN Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 Let's say Ghana lose to Germany 1-0 and Serbia draw with Australia, does it come down to goals scored, or the result between the two teams, which would see Ghana through.
The_Rev Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 Let's say Ghana lose to Germany 1-0 and Serbia draw with Australia, does it come down to goals scored, or the result between the two teams, which would see Ghana through. It goes like this: (1) points earned (2) goal difference (3) goals scored (4) Points earned among matches played amongst tied teams (there can be 3 tied teams) (5) Goal difference among matches played amongst tied teams (6) Goals scored among matches played amongst tied teams (7) Drawing of lots You can ignore points 5 & 6 if you are only trying to separate two teams.
theboyangel Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 Interesting fact regarding tomorrows match between Germany and Ghana - two brothers will be playing, Jerome and Kevin Prince Boateng but for different nations and one brother could knock the other out of the World Cup!!! Has there ever been siblings playing against each other Internationally before???
