Houlston
I watched some of it Gareth, I wanted to like it and whilst its visually different it is, at the end of the day, a bit shit.
mjmooney Posted February 24, 2012 VT Supporter Share Posted February 24, 2012 I don't suppose any of you lot watched that documentary about the Yorkshire landscape last night. Seems unlikely, but it did have Julia Bradbury so you never know... Anyway, it also had Hugh Dennis, who really let me down. He was being shown some bats flying around a cave at night, and the expert explained that they came there from the Hull area to feed - and then flew back before daylight. And - incredibly - he DIDN'T say it: "Like a bat out of Hull they'll be gone when the morning comes..."
GarethRDR
Yeah, you've got to wade through a lot of crap for what amounts to about 5 minutes of good stuff per episode. That said, I would happily watch Richard Ayoade counting the number of threads in a towel.

mjmooney Posted February 24, 2012 VT Supporter Share Posted February 24, 2012 but it did have Julia Bradbury so you never know... Om nom nom. Exactly. There was a strangely erotic sequence of her hitting a teddy bear with a hammer, too. It's probably on iPlayer. But in the meantime, have these on me:

mjmooney Posted February 24, 2012 VT Supporter Share Posted February 24, 2012 I love the way the guy in that last clip has to keep a sheaf of papers over his lap as she says: "You've been a very naughty boy..."

mjmooney Posted February 24, 2012 VT Supporter Share Posted February 24, 2012 The missus and I often go out walking in the Yorkshire Dales, and on one occasion some guys mistook her for Julia Bradbury. From a considerable distance, admittedly, but she was well pleased.
GarethRDR
I think it's only right that you provide suitable material for comparison.

mjmooney Posted February 24, 2012 VT Supporter Share Posted February 24, 2012 I'd have to go home and scan or get photos off the laptop for something better than these, but here's an illustration of what age does to people: Me and her on our wedding day, 1982: Me and her rather more recently (out on the wild and windy moor, as it happens):
