snowychap
So long, Tony Greig. To nick something from The 12th Man: "I don't hold a grudge, Ritchie. To me a grudge is just a place to park your car."
West
RIP Greigy. Not old enough to remember him as a cricketer but his unique and well loved voice will certainly be missed from the commentary box.

bickster Posted January 2, 2013 Moderator Share Posted January 2, 2013 End of the road for CMJ, too. Indeed, sad day indeed, another of the truly great commentators goes clicky
veloman
So - the Bears have announced that Dougie Brown is to replace Ashley Giles. Warks through and through so is he a good appointment or should they have pursued a bigger name - Ottis Gibson was mentioned. Have seen DB at Edgbaston several times coaching a young squad and Warks tend to appoint internally; Ashley will be a hard act to follow I reckon. What do you Bears fans think ? blandy Posted January 31, 2013 Moderator Share Posted January 31, 2013 I'm pleased for him and poppy Welch. They contributed to the success under Gilo, and like you say, proper bears.
Tomaszk
Will be a blow if Woakesy gets taken away as 12th man with the test side a lot.
tonyh29
Ricky Ponting joining the mighty Surrey on a 2 month stint with new captain Greame Smith , Gary Keedy , Vikram Solanki, and of course Kevin Pietersen it seems Surrey are keen to add some experience to go with the promising youngsters
OutByEaster? Posted March 24, 2013 Moderator Share Posted March 24, 2013 Oh arse. The test team's gone to dog shit just in time for double Ashes. Following on against New Zealand and looking like a bunch of players who forgot everything they know about cricket on the way back from the bookies. OutByEaster? Posted March 24, 2013 Moderator Share Posted March 24, 2013 Kiwi's have decided not to bother.
MrDuck
Remarkable last day performance by England - on the verge of a rather improbable draw. Great stuff from Prior and Broad. Just a few more overs to hang on! Of course I've probably cursed them now...

veloman
Prior you beauty! What an extraordinary finish. Series saved! And Ian Bell second top scorer. Anyway back to more important matters; anyone noticed Warwickshire's performance v. MCC ? Excellent - but ... with another great performance from Chris Wright and Varun Chopra will England be looking at them for the summer. Warks look like being without Bell, Trott and Woakes already - we don't want to 'do a Lancashire' !
snowychap
Prior you beauty! What an extraordinary finish. Series saved! Yes, superb effort from England. Broad didn't get off the mark for 102 minutes, too! Liked the comment from Boycott, "... In the end it was left to Monty Panesar to get the finest single of his life to get out of the way and let Matt Prior see the job through." veloman
Well Warks are off and running; great victory over Durham and they would undoubtedly beaten Derbyshire if it hadn't been for the rain ! On a slightly worrying note, Chris Wright has picked up a load of wickets; we don't want to lose him as well as Woakes. Bell and Trott !!
snowychap
Saw that Mike Denness died yesterday. Sad news.
dAVe80
Holy Moley! Just saw highlights of Chris Gayle's 175 not out (from 66 balls) in the pajama cricket. Absolutely brutal batting!
veloman
Right ! So now Villa are safe we can start worrying about Warwickshire. Only seen 'em once this year - Pro40 v. Kent when we were 2nd best all through the match. Due to go to 4 day game but belting down here so don't know yet. We could be missing a number of big names to International duty and have a nasty feeling we might struggle; any views ?
