It is not a test match, it is a one day international. You are basically asking if Manchester City will lose their spot at the top of the Premier League table if they get beaten by Wolves in the Carling Cup next week.

In fairness, he wasn't saying it was a test match :P

This series defeat may not mean much to England fans who only watch the Ashes but the worrying thing for them is despite their heroics in the summer over here and claims that this is a new winning England team, they just cannot find a way to win in the subcontinent. In the last 6 years they have won one...yes one ODI in India.

Aus 47 all out! 22 wickets fall in a day!! Amazing days cricket!!!

Not seen any of the action, what's going on? Is the pitch doing all sorts? Over cast weather? Poor batting? Brilliant bowling?

The most bizarre thing is that Aus are probably still favourites to win, despite getting their 4th lowest ever Test score...

what an odd odd day. 23 wickets in one day, yet the first innings was 284 and included a 150. Was that just great spells of momentum following through on both sides?

SA at 81/1 are in a good position still, but it seems they could easily be out for 140 too!

meanwhile, I have been playing too much of this in the past couple of days

Truly excellent to see two evenly matched sides in terms of talent, temperment and attitude battering the hell out of each other. It's a quite remarkable Test between SA and the Aussies. The pitch is not quite the devil it's made out to be, there has been some very ordinary club level shots, though.

Australia are still having same problems since Ashes. Haddin is poor in Tests and getting out yesterday was poor and their bowlers are not special, Johnson is still hit and miss and Harris and Siddle are workhorses but not consistent wicket takers. Think they might need to ask Lee to come back for a few tests if he is fit.

As in Watson, Ponting, Hussey and Clarke they have base of solid batting line-up

The Aussies need a total re-think of their side -I think that Ponky might agree with me here.

The basis of the side should be Marsh, Khawaja, Clarke, Watson, Tim Paine (wk) - then there are a host of bowlers who are young and quick - Cummins and Hazelwood being obvious examples, as well as Copeland (possibly the new McGrath).

The likes of Ponting, Hughes (poor technique being exposed again), Hussey, Haddin, Johnson, Siddle (wholehearted workhorse) should all go.

But it was a terrific game, and nice to see the Saffers not choking this time.

If Mike 'Mr Cricket' Hussey is going, could Warwickshire have him as their overseas player next season please :)

Do any Aussie villa fans on here think Steve Smith should have been given a longer spell ? He seems to give the ball a bit of a rip and cant he bat a bit too?
