Nigel Posted August 13, 2011 VT Supporter Share Posted August 13, 2011 Why isn't there a referral system in place for this test? India chose not to have it. Im glad its come back to haunt them, it was a stupid decision!
dAVe80
Brilliant again. It really is a nice feeling, watching England and expecting them to win every time, for probably the first time in my life.
snowychap
Why isn't there a referral system in place for this test? There is but not for LBWs. One step forward, at least. Just seen Dravid's dismissal - unlucky but I don't have a problem with it and neither, it would appear, did Dravid or Tendulkar.
blandy Posted August 13, 2011 Moderator Share Posted August 13, 2011 Just got back from it. Highlights were a banana being chased by about 50 Gorillas, Spiderman shinning up a pole, sliding down, then getting (sadly) escorted out the ground, 5 Mr Blobbies, 13 penguins, a pantomime horse - with a jockey, some good hitting by Kumar and Dhoni, a bloke just along catching a six in his pint glass and the new stand is really impressive - makes the place seem like it is more of a theatre for sport. Gives it a sense of place. Grand day out.
snowychap
Just got back from it. Highlights were a banana being chased by about 50 Gorillas, That got a lot of air time on TMS, Pete. p.s. Bloody great to call our side the best in the world. Well done to all who have contributed (players, staff and so on).
dAVe80
a bloke just along catching a six in his pint They showed that on TV. Check the highlights if you were near that, you may spot yourself. All looked fantastic fun, wish I'd got my arse in gear and got some tickets now! On a slightly different note, there have been no Test Matches in the North of England this summer. I normally like to go to at least one England match a summer, so it's a bit shit that I've not really had the chance to watch Test Cricket live this season, without having to travel 200 to 400 odd miles. Jezza
It's great to be an England cricket fan in Australia right now. I will try and be dignified about it, and not wear my England shirt to cricket training this week!!!
veloman
Durham lost aswell great for the Bears Absolutely ! Durham played 2 more games than us and we have 1 game in hand over teams above us. So..down to Edgbaston with missus on Thursday for start of 4 day game; only thing is - it is against Hampshire who got that massive score the other day and have just beaten Durham. Rest of fixtures:- Yorkshire - away Notts - home Hants - away Wonder if we will get Sir Ian back for any of those?
Ryan.
If you're going to go to number one, do it in style!! That wasn't just a beating, it was an absolute hammering. Incredible. When you see clips of the England team training there just seems to be a great togetherness there, I don't know if anyone behind the scenes is responsible but we've really got our act together in last few years. I'm turning up to cricket training this week with my England shirt on - I'll probably cop a few short pitched ones in the nets, I reckon!!! NibblyPig
I lived in Melbourne from 1988 to 2003. It was utter pain being an England fan down under during that period. We were, I'm sure you'll all remember, nothing short of woeful. But the vast majority of you didn't have to go to school or uni the next day and face the teasing and tormenting of a load of Aussies. All those hours wasted watching Channel 9, watching us collapse and follow on, and the arrogant Australian cricketers smashing records left, right, and centre. Still, makes moments like these (and the last couple of Ashes series) all the sweeter.

They only care more about the footy cos they can't lose to another country at it :winkold: After so long being utter shit, it's just fantastic to be giving the Aussies a taste of their own medicine. 8)

MrDuck
Australia lost 3rd one dayer to Sri Lanka by 78 runs. Sri Lanka and Australia looking pretty evenly matched at present - never thought I'd be saying that!

Richard
Have to say never really been interested that much in cricket certainly not enough to watch a match. However I had the pleasure of attending the test last Friday and it was most enjoyable.
