PaulC
He’s not pleasing on the eye like kohli but it works for him and there’s not been anything like him since Bradman so he has my admiration.

Rodders
I'll judge him more so on his second innings. Only opening due to Roy's ineptitude and it's a long day in the field, his brain was fried. Long term he isn't an option though. Survived to stumps. 10 overs done. Need to view the job as seeing overs off. Just get another 10 overs with no wicket, give root and Roy tired batsmen please.
veloman
Well I reckon there are only two possible outcomes now !!! I don't know which was more irritating; Archer's show of (mild) dissent at being told to bowl round the wicket or Leach overstepping. Both very poor. tonyh29
It shows how poor the Aussies are that we can be this inept as test team and yet still stand a chance of winning the ashes ( assuming rain and boring batting see a draw in this match )

PaulC
Apart from smith it’s possibly the worst Aussie batting side I can remember. Smith and their bowling has been the difference. We got away with it last match when we had the best of the conditions.

Rodders
century stand for Burns and Root, resilience definitely has improved since that 67all out. Feeling good that we'll draw this one - just need to keep wearing them down this evening.
Xela
Shame for Burns. Good gritty innings. I do like him, think he'll be a fixture at the top of the order for a while.
imavillan
shite, didn't need that !!!!!....Burns and now Root..... 322 behind, need a big partnership now come on Roy, Stokes dig in there Edited September 6, 2019 by imavillan
tonyh29
now Root .. just when I thought we could bat this out for a draw back to you weather .....
Rodders
I think the weather has played it's final hand for us thìs test, save maybe a few saved overs for bad light. All on the matters but hey they've done Ok so far. Another hundred or so to avoid the follow on is manageable from here surely.

imavillan
the crowd cheering every time the ball is thrown back to Lyon to catch is a classic piece of English cricket crowd humour... very funny indeed

Could destroy him as a player. You look at Burns and Root's knocks today, and Stokes the other week. There is no way on earth that Roy has that type of innings in his locker.
