wiggyrichard
I cant understand why any sane person would choose to smoke. You smelly yellow fingered unsociable cancer lovers. But you're ginger... Well done. Did you think of that comeback all by yourself? Well you claimed I have yellow fingers (I dont) claimed Im unsociable (far from it, im not ginger) and claimed I love cancer (very childish). Nevermind lets not catch feelings on the internet son Typical smokers come back. Your fingers will be yellow. And you will smell. making you unsociable. Cancer, ok maybe childish but would you use a dirty needle to drugs? Sleep with dirty girls bare back? You put yourself at risk with every smoke. Your life, fine. I just think you're mental. What the **** lol? We are all born with cancer, im not putting myself at risk every smoke I have. Im not ginger so I can actually socialise in the sun with many beautiful women without steaming. Say no more. Good day God loves us all
wiggyrichard
You actually are putting yourself at risk with every smoke you have. It's true that cancer is a disease essentially caused by a fault of our biology (its almost inevitable you will get some form of it eventually, generally something else will get you first however), however it is possible to exacerbate that fault, and to an extent cause it. Smoking, and more specifically the chemicals you take into your respiratory system from it, often causes the flaw of cell reproduction to be encouraged that causes cancer. So, while you would almost certainly eventually get some form of cancer in life, assuming you lived long enough, smoking is simple increasing your chances of getting some specific types. EDIT - And a lot of em ain't pretty. Thats a fair enough statement Chind. I havnt got a problem with anyone smoking as i used to be a 20 a day smoker until 5 months ago. As you say smoking just opens the doors for the cancer to escape.

LondonLax
I have never really seen the point. It seems to be all negatives without any positive pay off. I understand that once you are addicted they start feeling good but I don't know why you would pay money and force your lungs to get used to the smoke to get to that point in the first place. MrWeedMcGrass
For smokers who are sick of being castigated by society in general Anti anti smokers We do realize smoking is harmful and many of us are trying desperately to quit. What i don't like is being lectured on smoking every time I hold a cigarette in my fingers.
Brumerican
I smoke far less than I used to (under 10 a day now) and i think the ban has had a huge impact on that, along with the cost. I realise it will kill me but I am pretty sure that I am not immortal anyway. Thats why it's always a bit strange when someone says "those things will kill you, ya know"...Er and ? I may die at 70 instead of 90...Big whoop! Also the astronomical amount of tax us smokers pay helps subsidise our education and health systems. If everyone gave up tomorrow then we would all be in a world of shit IMO. The world is becoming overpopulated and people are living far longer than in the past, which becomes a bigger burden on natural resources, so anything that helps cull these numbers such as smoking and homosexuality should be applauded . Gay, smokers deserve knighthoods IMO!.. Life is one big risk! ALL OF US will be dead before we know it so who really gives a shit anyway.

Guest Ricardomeister
The smell of it floating around is vile and gives me a migraine. Why anybody would want it in their mouth and lungs is beyond me.

Chindie Posted April 15, 2010 VT Supporter Share Posted April 15, 2010 I've got no problem if people want to smoke, I just prefer it if people don;t around me as I can't stand smoke around me. I just really don't understand why anyone would want to. It's got nothing going for it. The first time you drew on one, you most likely coughed and spluttered. There's a reason for that. It's your body telling you 'No, do not want'. Don't think I'll ever see the appeal.

The tax smokers pay helps subsidise a heath system clogged up with people suffering from smoking related illnesses. Smokers defending smoking is weird, just admit you have a problem, you wish you'd never started, you wish you could stop and we'll all move on.
