Why does Cuellar insist on launching throw-ins down the line when 4 or 5 times in the match he had Milner 10 yards away totally unmarked. Why did at times we have Dunne, Cuellar and Collins all going up for the ball which meant that Reading players were totally unmarked for the knock down. I think our name is on the cup but we will have to be alot better in the semi. Altho some of ours are little better. Wait, where abouts were you sitting? Next to the fat bastard or down below? What a game. I was feeling pretty bad at half time but still had a bit of confidence. The atmosphere was amazing. Almost got knocked over into the row in front of me and I got hugged by some random guy. Think I might have been sitting directly behind a VTer. Carew 2nd half was the player we have been looking for all season. He should start the next game and we might see him go on one of his runs of good games/scoring. The midfield 2 of Petrov & Milner look leggy. We need to give these a rest if poss as they will run out of gas when it matters, a bit like last Sunday in the 2nd half. Come on boy's UTV. At 2-0 down it was all going to come down to the half time teamtalk .. great second half , pleased for Carew who had become Villa scapegoat of late .. always said he needed a run of games and we did start to see brief glimpses of what he can do over the past few weeks ..interesting to see what MON does now with regards to the forwards ..time to put hesky back in his his rightful position on the bench ? Back 4 did look shaky today , lot of sliced clearances and so on ..Collins looked the worse of them today , still think he ought to be benched for a while and have Luke at RB ..but it probably wont happen tough semi fional draw but we aint out of it yet .... I was sitting right down by the left (our left) corner flag. The Batman and Robin guys were pretty hilarious too. It was absolute chaos down there when we scored the first and second goals. starsailor9774 Posted March 7, 2010 Share Posted March 7, 2010 it shouldn't have even been at the stage where we we 2 down against a struggling championship team We probably shouldn't have got to that stage but this was a cup game and I'm not so sure that the championship team in question is struggling as much as it was when they put Liverpool out, for instance. Having said that we shouldn't have got to that stage, we did and we found something extra and we came back to win the game. We did the same kind of thing in the second leg of the CC semi. I'm not going to kid myself that we were great but I'm not going to fool myself into thinking that coming out in the second half and showing what we were made of (with some pretty good football, too) is not something to applaud. However at the level we are hoping to be competing at next season you can't just decide to perform for 15mins a game. MON needs to instill that "15minute" mentality into them for thr whole 90mins. I was down at the bottom so I didn't know exactly what was going on but I think he was aggregating some of our fans. Watching his team **** up a 2-0 lead like that probably sent him over the edge and he must've got angry. The stewards eventually escorted him out and everyone was laughing at him. The players would've probably thought he was off his rocker if he'd started todays team talk with "that first half was utter crap". I don't think O'Neill has any magic words that he picks out of the dictionary when he wants the boys to play out their skin, though i'm sure he's used "rocket" and "club" to Carew today. Love the fact the one person who thinks we'd be top 3 if MON listened to him was crying for Carew to come off. This game once again shows us that we as fans really know nothing and it's about time people trusted the manager more. I was pissed off at half time and would have liked some changes to be made but what do I know, the man in charge knows what his doing and it's clear he has the respect of that team (who was claiming our team spirit wasn't great?) another trip to wembley, how boring!
