Heskey is poor player playing poorly

Carew is a good player playing poorly.

Carew can and has done better - Heskey never has.

However 4 seasons in, and the manager hasn't really addressed the issue that neither is consistent enough for what we are now looking for.

Not what I have heard. He is the first one out of the changing room after the match apparently to get down to London for his night out.

Where do you get to hear this sort of thing, barry'sboots?

A local guy who is big mates with an ex-player (with a big smile!) and had it confirmed by someone internal.

Apparently, MON has given up trying to stop him - just told him to keep it away from MON. They also said that they thought he wanted a move to London so he could be closer to the nightlife.

Carew has just about gone past his best before date. Shame really but it comes to all players. He'll go in the summer and I for one will thank him for a few good memories.

Heskey is currently of far more use to use which says a lot about how low John has sunk as 12 months ago I'd never have contemplated that being the case.

Consistency was never Carew's strong point. It's one of the reasons why he has been through so many clubs.

Having said that - the man is quality. When he's on song he is unplayable. I wouldn't sell him in the summer as we'd get nothing for him. Better to keep him simply so we have another option and his experience will help our younger players - especially Delfonouso.

When did he last have a good game?

Never fit. Doesn't do a lot most games but is likely to nick a goal. Heskey doesn't do a lot most games but is excused from missing sitters constantly because he's not a goalscorer...and yet is a Premier League striker :?

Hardly think he's a role model for younger players :P

Well... in a roundabout way. He can teach Delfonouso much about holding the ball up, back to the goal type play and leading the line. Also things like keeping a cool head, dealing with loss of form and that sorta thing.

About consistency and keeping fit - perhaps Delfonouso can turn to others for that :winkold:

a certain Carlton Cole who is now being touted as a £20m striker  and great hope for many has publicly gone on record as saying that Carew helped him get his career back on track ..
