I think it included some fear in Paul, knowing that despite Mike’s age if Mike did get a few good punches in Paul couldn’t take it. Looked like Paul was not boxing to win but keeping some distance to win on points and not be embarrassed by a knockout by a 58 year old man. I don’t think it made Paul look good because we could all see Mike didn’t have it in him.

Popular Post sne Posted November 16, 2024 Popular Post Posted November 16, 2024 Still baffles me why people watch celebrity "boxing" or celebrity anything for that matter. Of course it's going to be shit. 2 minutes rounds, extra padded gloves and a couple rich guys who have nothing on the line here apart from making sure they don't get hurt. It's dancing with the stars in shorts. 6 1

Eligius Posted November 16, 2024 Posted November 16, 2024 How do these circus fights get sanctioned? Paul boasting of a supposed professional boxing career with one defeat, defeat to the only fairly current boxer that he has fought.

There is a (a couple) reason(s) this fight was in Dallas and not Vegas or N.Y. Most places would not let a 60 y.o fight a 20 something guy. Obviously tax rules and other stuff also matters. Same with why the dude doesn't do sanctioned fights in organized boxing because then there'd be doping checks and I'm sure tons of other regulations.
Genie Posted November 16, 2024 Posted November 16, 2024 (edited) It really was a no win for Paul (aside from the finances). He wins: Yeah, but he’s nearly 60, get a grip. He loses: Haha, lost to a grandad He batters Tyson: Jesus Chris, he’s an old man and you’re hitting him with everything you’ve got. Now you’ve given an old man brain damage. I am pretty sure it was the worst “fight” I’ve ever seen. Jake Paul doesn’t belong at that level but I still suspect he was holding back for year of embarrassing Tyson or giving him a brain injury. If Tommy Fury rocked up like MT did I think there would be far more aggression on show. Edited November 16, 2024 by Genie

I didn't watch it because its a sham fight, but I think that a lot of people watched it purely to see that cocky little prick Paul knocked out. If Paul, or any of his managers thought he could actually fight, he would enter the pros & fight a proper fighter who isn't a glorified ballet dancer or an OAP. Now, that, I would watch. Because there would be more than a high degree that Paul would be knocked out.

Pongo Waring Posted November 16, 2024 Posted November 16, 2024 Just watching the Taylor fight. Commentary so bias. Didn't think Serano won any rounds. Taylor pissed it.
Genie Posted November 16, 2024 Posted November 16, 2024 Prince Naseem is only 50, and about 18 stone. Maybe he fancies a go.

What a World we live in! You know there's something very surreal about the Jake Paul Universe when Rosie Perez is doing ringside commentary. Just skipped through the highlights, what an appalling event, and some of the jokes on here were even more appalling. Edited November 16, 2024 by sheepyvillian

Avfc96 Posted November 16, 2024 Posted November 16, 2024 Taylor won, which was the right decision and for once the scorecards were right. I didn't watch the Tyson 'fight' and will not watch any highlights of it. But going by what I've read on X and on here, it was as pathetic as I expected it to be. At least there is a night of proper boxing tonight. 1
