AshVilla
Can't see past Spence in the Brook fight. He will need to be at his best to beat Spence and he hasn't fought the best at welter since his leg injury years ago. I fancy Canelo in the GGG fight i can see him being taken out because i'm not convinced by his head movement which was poor against Brook who didn't have the power to hurt him Edited May 15, 2017 by AshVilla
Demitri_C
Brook looks in great shape, but its a tough one to call. Dr_Pangloss
Golovkin is going to kill Canelo IMO. Don't think a huge amount can be read into the Brook fight since Golovkin admitted he wanted a 'street' fight and had no regard at all for Brook's power. I think he will approach the Canelo fight more like he did the Lemieux fight. Edited May 16, 2017 by Dr_Pangloss

Don't mince your words do you! I guess it will go something like mayweather is 40 years old, he doesn't need to take the fight or prove anything. It's of course a dangerous fight that mayweather doesn't need to take. Would rather see that then him school a ufc cage fighter in boxing.

The Mayweather camp have already completely rubbished the very idea of a fight between the two of them purely because of the size difference, Mayweather isn't a junior middleweight even though he has fought there so the chance of him going in with a fully fledged middleweight who could potentially move up rather than down is absolutely zero. And just say that it did happen and somehow Floyd won, there would be some people crazy enough to suggest he moves up to fight Andre Ward, its just unrealistic. It's not the case that he is 40 and has nothing to prove, I don't want to see him fight McGregor, that is an utter joke as well but for completely different reasons. The thing is he boxed with canelo...golovkins next opponent ward vs mayweather? That is a completely ridiculous suggestion. Might as well say Joshua vs brook! Correct he boxed with canelo who hadn't ever fought at middleweight at the time, I believe it was at a catchweight of 152 as well, throw into the mix that it was 4 or 5 years ago and canelo was only 22 or 23 and not as big as he is now and you have a completely different scenario to a potential fight with GGG. The ward thing is just my point, its unrealistic to expect someone to do it, he has already moved up so many weight classes that their has to be a ceiling where it becomes unfeasible to expect him to go up again. Demitri_C
Yep most pointless fight. I think McGregor can't win whatever happens. If he loses as expected people say he never a boxer, if McGregor kos him (not gonna happen but if) people will say lucky punch. One thing I will say is I have a problem with Carl frochs comments. He said it would be more of a competitive fight in a UFC fight. Mayweather would get destroyed in a UFC fight. That is a completely stupid thing for him to say. It would not be competitive in a boxing or UFC fight as neither can do what the other specialises in
Dr_Pangloss
It doesn't belong in a boxing thread, absolute freak show, would only be interesting if they had e.g. two fights based on their own disciplines.

Yes I agree mate. Have one boxing, one UFC and then a variation of the two Mayweather wins easy. if Canelo couldn't get near him what chance has Mcgregor? If mayweather was to fight again I would like him to go up against the winner of Brook-Spence. Much more interesting fight. West
Mayweather is done. No reason for him to risk his unbeaten record against some young hot shot.

sheepyvillian
I wasn't too impressed with Mayweather"s conduct at the press conference for the Gervonta Davis . Such a shame his social skills don't match his boxing skills .
LakotaDakota
Bet James DeGale can't wait for his next fight. Andre Dirrell fought Jose Uzcategui for the interim belt to see who would be the mandatory challenger for Degale. Dirrell won by DQ after being hit with a punch that KO'd after the bell. Dirrells uncle (also his trainer) decided he didn't like this very much and did this.. He is now wanted by maryland police on first degree assault charges after legging it from the venue Edited May 21, 2017 by LakotaDakota
Dr_Pangloss
I tend to think Dirrell took a dive, like he did in the Abraham fight. Also he wasn't exactly hit that long after the bell, literally a nano-second after. Never been a fan of either Dirrell brother really. Andre is the talented one but flatters to deceive for the most part, doesn't know how to strategise a fight. Anthony is just a solid boxer, nothing more, nothing less.
