lapal_fan
Its incredible how short sighted some people are. 2 weeks ago we beat Bolton 5 - 1...How have we had 6 poor preformances? Duuuh

TheSufferingVilla
Terrible weather and playing a team with an excellent home record. Poor performance but ok result. Did the other team have different weather? most stupid question ever?!? Given that Burnley were the home side just perhaps they were more used to the conditions at Turf Moor on saturday. Yup about as stupid as claiming the whether had anything to do with it. The other team had to play in it and seemed to manage fine, yet for us its a perfectly acceptable excuse for why we were shite again away from home! You obviously didn't watch the game did you? The weather was horrible and completely disrupted our style of play. In the second half with the storm at our backs as opposed to being in our face we played much better but the conditions made the game a lottery. Obviously watching it live rather than on the tv must have give you a unique perception to how Burnley managed and we didn't. Unless we were so unlucky that Burnley seemed to have the favourable weather both half's, is that what you mean? That is really really unlucky! If the weather had such an impact to be mentioned as an excuse for us but ignored for them, god forbid people really will think of anything! blandy Posted November 24, 2009 Moderator Share Posted November 24, 2009 The weather did have a effect, Jez. I looked at the Burnley forum someone linked to the other day, and their fans felt it did, too. The stats on their forum also showed that we had slightly more possession and a slightly better passing accuracy. But mainly from actually going to the game it was bleedin' obvious. It was particualrly noticeable in the second half that we were benefitting from the weather as Burnley were having trouble clearing their lines and were misplacing a lot more passes, due to the wind getting hold of them - later on they were being pinned back a bit, and in trying to play longer passes to hit us on the break they were often failing. Same as us in the first half.
