paddy Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005 I was thinking about this earlier, discounting any hours you might use a PC at work, do you spend more time for pleasure on a computer or watching TV? With me it's an easy call as I have no TV, but I think I'd probably spend more time on the computer anyway. Probably about an hour or 2 a day on the computer and half hour watching TV. With the exception of when there's football on and I'll watch that, I still do that now just at the pub. Now I'm home it's different as there's less to take up my time so I've been on here a bit more and I've got a TV here. If I'd asked this question as little as probably 4 years ago TV would win by a country mile but I reckon it will be quite close now. The only grey area in this is whether watching films on a laptop like I often do at uni is classed as watching TV or using a computer, I think I'll class it in TV as you're not interacting with the computer, just watching it. That brings the hours closer together but it's still computer for me. (Just for Rob's information I'd count watching porn as using the computer...)
Oaks Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005 What about if your on the computer while watching TV..................just like now.

Risso Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005 TV's just the thing I do for half an hour now while I'm in the queue to play WoW!
TheSufferingVilla Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005 does playing playstation and xbox count as tv or pc?
BOF Posted November 9, 2005 Moderator Posted November 9, 2005 I never use a computer at home except on very very rare occasions. I watch plenty of telly I've recently started watching the bloody thing after I go to bed too. Curse Discovery and it's Forensic and FBI files !!
paddy Posted November 10, 2005 Author Posted November 10, 2005 Stupid question perhaps but what the hell is this WoW? I realise it's World of Warcraft and that Chinese people play it for weeks on end and die but can anyone explain what it actually is?
villafan306 Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 Wow is a massive online muliplayer game where you create your own character and play in a virtual world where the other characters are other people who hve created them - im not the best person to tell you but I'm sure The Rev, Risso Ed and TRL will fil you in. I use my PC more - FM2006, Coursework and Villatalk...
villadude Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 I used to watch loads of telly, but these days it's just a background noise as I spend most of my evenings on the PC ... I had a problem with my ISP connection a couple of weeks back, I was unable to get online for about 2 days, couldn't believe how bored I was, didnt know what to do with myself !
sbaldie1 Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 I rarely watch the goggle box, last week i was offline for 3 days (thanks Telewest  )..Never been so bored in my life

Only a matter of time until it gets cited in my divorce!

Juju Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 Either that or Mrs Risso dons the kinky leather armour and troll mask again to get some attention...... Or she retires to the bedroom with a "magic wand" of her own.......
mansonAVFC Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 I'm on the PC more than the telly but since my exams are coming up it's neither for me for a while.
