Visiting Supporter Rino8 Posted August 27, 2009 Visiting Supporter Share Posted August 27, 2009 ugh, heskey and carew. Ugh???Yes, ugh. When has this worked in the past, it's almost the same team as the one that played in the Wigan game, just with Carew.
MagicMarlon
Delighted Carew is back and I'm very pleased to be getting my first proper look at Delph. Come on Villa!

CarewsEyebrowDesigner
I expect a tight game, us to score in the 35th minute from a Carew header, then after a tense second half we will have a deflected free kick win it for us in the dying seconds. In the true Aston Villa fashion

Visiting Supporter Rino8 Posted August 27, 2009 Visiting Supporter Share Posted August 27, 2009 Same central midfield as played against Wigan nice lets hope it works just a smidgen better tonightThat's my worry, I hope the Pool win finally gave them belief. I'd of played Carew - Delf upfront.
Jon
Same central midfield as played against Wigan nice lets hope it works just a smidgen better tonight indeed. brave selection from MON, IMO. gonna go one way or the other!!
tanveer1968
MON is being stubborn just to show that he got the team selction right against wigan and would have played Carew if he was fit. Playing Heskey and leaving out NRC is a big mistake. Hope I am proven wrong
villaajax
442 and Heskey... I'm a little worried to be honest
VT Supporter Chindie Posted August 27, 2009 VT Supporter Share Posted August 27, 2009 Colin Murray. 'Eh...ugh...Ian.... Villa...eh...Martin O'Neill...eh...um...ugh...so...Delph!'
steell
I honestly think fitness is a very significant thing and the transformation at Liverpool was centred around energy, tenacity and stamina - I think we'll see a very different performance than Wigan tonight. Well, we better!!
4Serious
I understand leaving out NRC - he ran his socks off vs. Pool and will be needed against Fulham. He's also not the sort of guy with the invention to break down a team that has a first leg lead and can sit back. But I am worried about Delph. I never like seeing Heskey play but am happy about having Carew back. Have a bad feeling about this one. Could be going out on away goals here. Let's hope I'm wrong. Up the Villa! Spoony
Someone else should be allowed to pick the team. I can't think of anyone who'd disagree with '4-5-1, drop heskey, play NRC'
Kiwivillan
Ask me bollocks. So much for my fiver bet on Sidders 1st scorer @ 10-1. I thought MON was in agreement with us that Petrov and 4-4-2 don't work?
