Villa have bitten on the Tuncay thing and are trying to do it. As long as O'Neill does not fart about it could happen. If you get Tuncay and Miguel and maybe a centre half you will have had a good summer." I also know somebody who has somebody at boro who hadn't heard a word about this but was not in today so it sort of ties in with what Nicko has said. As I reported on Friday the man arrived in Birmingham for one of his rare close season visits. Another aircraft related to him also arrived on Monday. Both are still here. Mr Lerner is a busy man, and his time is money.There is some serious activity going on this week and I feel sure that multiple announcements are imminent. Fair play to him - he has faith in his source: Distin is all but done and Bentley isn't far off as far as I know. X AND Not going to lie, originally I was told there would be a signing today but RL wanted to be there for the signing. As you know he arrived late into the country. I also made this public on here. I've not been told a day when the signing is going to happen, all I know is that there is going to be signings by early next week, as my contact (someone who works at Villa Park and is in contact with backroom staff every day - not a player or an agent though) is a strong believer of what they've said, so I'm going by their word. How strong their word is we will see but they got it right before on Sidwell and Heskey...and were also correct on the fixtures as I posted on here about 40 mins before they were announced the other week. Not normally one for tittle tattle as think its mostly bollocks but my mate has just come back from Grosvenor Casino Walsall where he was chatting to a 'supposed' in the know guy who works at Villa Park. Apparantly the dealto bring Michael Owen to the Villa is all but done, just ends to tie up, apparantly the Villa would quite like Owen to move closer to VP or at least have a base near instead of commuting from Cheshire and that is being sorted before anything is announced. Apparantly they have offered him 3 year contract with wages of 80k a week which i found a bit bizarre but still. He also reckons Upson and Downing are coming, Upson deal almost done, a hitch with Downing over terms of deal and the fact that he is 3 months away from fitness, apparantly the Villa would quite like a 12 month loan option with a view to a permanent deal similar to Curtis Davies. From the Bentley thread: Yes, its my first post and Im unlikely to be ITK. I have had an account but cant remember my username so had to re-register. Anyway after the Naughton Facebook thing, I did what a hundred others did and added him as a friend on facebook. I flicked through his other friends and tried Bentley. He accepted and a bit worse for wear, I PM'ed him wishing him luck regardless of where he went. He replied this morning, saying its likely he will be coming to Villa. Could be a fake account, might not be. But I registered to let you know. The screenshot was up on 365, but I took it down incase it is genuine and its a shitty thing to do. A guy I work with is best mates with Bentleys brother. Well before he was linked away from Blackburn last year I was going on about how I wanted him and he told me he would probably leave, but if he did, it would be Spurs. He said before it was known he was a Spurs fan and had wanted to play for Spurs since he was about 6. Then we were linked with him, and he said, forget it, he will only join one club. He was right. So I asked him yesterday had he heard anything - and he said he hadn't. As far So we now have people ITK who say the deal is on and people ITK that say it isn't.....make of that what you will. We (oxygen.ie) usually don't do sport stories (and I know dick about football.), but we had a look around News Now and Wordpress and got bubkiss on this. Great news if you like Darren Bent, bad news if you like John Carew... We are in talks to sign Darren Bent which is good but the bad news is Carew is leaving. Not sure if it involves a swap deal with Spurs or if he is going elsewhere, but he is leaving. Here is the truth Bentley wants to leave, but at this point in time, nothing is happening. He is preparing to go back to Spurs, where he thinks he will be next year. If he does go, they suspect it could be a loan. He didn't know specifics, but doesn't think Villa will happen.
