I voted for season four. What they did with the hoppers was just a fantastic piece of television, and the performances from the young actors were very moving.

Season four was the highlight of the highlight of modern television. Best show ever.

This guy gets it.

I watched S1 around 10 years ago.
It was pretty good, if a little difficult to understand what they were saying half the time.

I heard S2 wasn’t as good, so I never bothered watching any more.

If you’ve otherwise lived a fairly normal, quiet life, giving up on The Wire after series two is probably one of the worst mistakes you have ever made.

This is not hyperbole. This is fact.

Me too, absolutely nothing wrong with it

There’s nothing wrong with it. It’s still excellent TV. It’s just also clearly the least excellent series of the five.

Its the worst....but 'utter bobbins' is no where near!

Spoiler

After 4 absolutely brilliant groundbreaking series of gritty realism a detective tries to get more money for his completely underfunded department by clumsily trying to invent a serial killer, biting dead bodies with false teeth - utter bobbins
