Their gig at Wembley couple of years back still might just be the best show  I’ve been to (.though Pearl Jam last year might just have edged it )

A high bar, indeed ;)

Every time I've seen them they've been good but just like almost any band, as soon as they hit arena size, I stop going to see them live, so I last saw them in the '80s

Usually the same here but not much choice with some bands now if you want to see them.

The cure did squeeze in a quick club tour in 92 the week wish came out, Managed to get to Newcastle mayfair & Rock city in nottingham.

I have been to well over 500 gigs and 20+ festivals and the cure gig at the mayfair is by far the best one i have ever been to.

I think my favourite Cure show was the Pornography Tour at Brum Odeon

Wouldn't have thought many would pick that tour, especially the band. Very nearly the end of them completely.

Still kinda hope that someone filmed some of the brussles show with Smith on Drums, Gallup on guitar & lol on bass and has had it tucked away in a loft for the past 37 years. Seems unilkely after all this time but you never know i guess

I saw them at an Xfm all dayer in some London Park, they were marvellous. I didn't see them last night as I was watching a historical lesbian show with Yara Greyjoy.

Even they’ve got the memo that Glasto ain’t cool.

:D

There's rarely more than five bands on the posted gig lists that I'd bother going to see, and would usually only end up seeing one or two of those.

The reality of the whole is different, mind boggling actually. There's so much there.

You'd get your money's worth from the Theatre & Circus fields alone, which I rarely see mentioned anywhere.

This year was quite fun. Actually got to seen some acts, as we had one big gig rather than lots of little ones.

Rosalia - Good.

Wu Tang Clan - Great fun, though they didn't need to drop the Nirvana, it was them everyone wanted to see.

Baby Metal - Ha - Didn't expect much from this, was out with mates and went along with the crowd. Had thought BM were like Shonen Knife, but Metal - Wrong. The players are from the Kamiband. The girls replace your traditional front man/woman.

As they performed songs in the style of Metal across the decades, the sneaking suspicion that the players were quite good turned into certainty. Then they got their own mostly instro track (that the Beeb seem to have edited out). Pulsing chunk, immaculate timing and execution. What an amazing band, really!

Fat White Family - Meh, this was where our merry crew split. Went off to get a curry.

The Cure - They didn't go through the motions here. The songs had obviously been completely reworked and the wind had died so the 21st century PA was in full effect. I'd seen them in 1990 when the helicopter landed in the field to take off a girl that was in trouble. Technically it was light years ahead of that show, the sonics were good and their new arrangements worked. Fat Bob's still got it.

The Dance stages threw up some surprises too. Arcadia's massive crane was interesting, but the IICON stage in Block 9 was amazing! Their set making is another level 😮

I haven't seen any of it, but Glastonbury is cooler than it's ever been, artists like Liam Gallagher, Janet Jackson, Kylie, Mylie Cyrus. Stormzy, Lewis Capaldi, Billie Eilish, and others, and then all the other usual suspect indie type bands, means that there's something for everyone. I guess the headliners coming from a more diverse range of musical backgrounds, in part stems from the fact that there aren't that many big commercial rock bands in this day and age.

in terms of albums out this year and something to sell I don't think there is a natural headliner, loads for the other stage and the john peel stage but the pyramid there isn't anyone I can see

I would like to have seen foals given the chance based on their reading performance from a few years back and their new albums out this year but based on the venue size of their tour it looks like they're not after it yet (expecting an arena tour following the release of part 2 so maybe next year)

I feel like I need to confess.

I've just seen Billy Ocean and Beverley Knight at Kew Gardens.

I’ve never been to a more Waitrose concert in my life.

it was truly awful.

Just finished watching the totally ace TAYNE playing to, erm, me in a somewhat dingy club in Reading (everyone else buggered off once the local acts/their mates finished). TAYNE were great though. Synth-drenched heavy noise rock at it's finest (your mileage obviously varies depending on your feelings about synth-drenched heavy noise rock).

Obligatory vid...
