Ryan.
Peter Griffin for me, wins by a mile. Never really got into She Simpsons but Family Guy is one of my fav programs ATM!
Stevo985 Posted March 25, 2009 VT Supporter Share Posted March 25, 2009 The Simpsons now is about as funny as a kick in the balls. So right now Griffin would win by miles. However, for about 10 yhears Simpsons was brilliant, and if it wasn't for them Family GUy and South Park probably wouldn't exist. So for that reason Homer gets my vote. I would like to reiterate, however, that the new simpsons episodes are bloody awful.
LatestConfirmedIn
Everyone i speak to thinks the new simpsons are dreadful aswell. All the celebrity appearances really pisses me off. Ten years ago it was brilliant, now I loathe new episodes on Sky One and prefer to watch a repeat of a 1994 classic ! Its a shame, but nobody seems to tell the writers its shit
Ryan.
Now here's a question, can the family (apart from Brian the dog) here Stewie speak??
TheSufferingVilla
Could be the most difficult question I have ever asked but I went with Homer since he is representative of the failings of every man. We can all relate to him whereas Peter Griffin only represents the few of us who are total dickheads, me included.
Jondaken
Now here's a question, can the family (apart from Brian the dog) here Stewie speak?? Yes is the answer. It's happened a few times that I can remember, but they don't speak directly to him when responding, so its meant to make you think about wither they can actually hear him or not. Stevo985 Posted March 25, 2009 VT Supporter Share Posted March 25, 2009 I think as a general rule they can't, however I'm sure there are occasions when they do understand him.
Jondaken
O, apart from when Lois gets on at him got using bad language. Thats the only time I think anyone else actually talks to him.
Hanky
Homer I'd say.
NulliSecundus
Homer easily. And I actually like the new simpsons. I just can't for the life of me find family guy remotely funny. I hate the stupid **** flashbacks, and the need to repeat the same ten frames over and over again.
Brumerican
Now here's a question, can the family (apart from Brian the dog) here Stewie speak?? This question is answered perfectly at the 13 minutes and 40 second mark in the first episode of season 7 See here S7 Ep 1 "Love Blactually" Can anyone besides Brian understand Stewie. Ponky
Homer by a love-handle. Homer wins just because while he is dim-witted he retains a sliver of humanity that I can identify with but PG is just a different species altogether.

Nath182
Peter! Family Guy is miles funnier than The Simpsons overall and think Peter is one of the funniest characters.
sellyoakvilla
Peter Griffin by a hundred **** miles. I laugh at Family Guy for hours, Simpsons is boring
greenz
Peter Griffin is my choice too.... Simpsons don't cut it for me anymore. Though, Brian is funnier than both of 'em

The Simpsons was literally genius during the glory years, and I don't bother watching new ones anymore, so Homer gets my vote. Cartman may run him close though... TrentVilla Posted March 26, 2009 Moderator Share Posted March 26, 2009 I love Peter Griffin and I now find his character funnier than new episodes of the Simpsons. However the overall winner for me is Homer for the fact his character has been so funny for so long.
Nigel Posted March 26, 2009 VT Supporter Share Posted March 26, 2009 To me Homer IS the Simsons and carries the show, where as Peter is only one of many great lead characters in FG. On this basis Homer gets my vote!
