Goldeneye aside, I can barely remember any of Brosnan's other Bond movies, and I think I saw them all the cinema!

Goldeneye apart, I can only remember them as 'Friends titles': The one with Rupert Murdoch / The one with Robert Carlyle being bug-eyed / The one with the invisible car

Enjoyed this one immensely. Helped by a very good (as usual) performance from Rebecca Hall. It's on Disney Plus for anyone that subscribes.

Yeah, really liked that one.

I take it you haven't seen The Wolf of Wall Street? Or Once Upon a Time in Hollywood? Or Bombshell? Or her best performance in I, Tonya?

She's a very good actor in the right movie.

She's a brilliant actor.

She's superb in I, Tonya

Craig is the best bond. Hands down imo.

Brosnan was ok but like CHindie said he had shit films. DAD is one of the shittest films ever

Craig is meathead Bond, a sad departure for the character imho.

Same here

I liked it first film but then expected them to develop him in suave sophisticated bond that we all know and love... And they didn't... They left his as the miserable broken bond and just broke him a little bit more each film, it didn't really work for me

Acting chops are perfectly fine, in that regard he's a very good bond but in terms of writing I don't think they did enough with him

I think that's exactly why he's the best Bond.

Less of the gadgety, cringey shit and more of a grittier killer, which is what Bond is.

No surprise to me that Spectre was one of the weaker Craig Bonds because it had taken a huge step back towards that tired old Bond model.

The best thing that happened to Bond was The Bourne Identity. They basically ripped off that style for Casino Royale and it was all the better for it.

Agree and disagree

I would say that QofS is one of if not the worst bond film ever because it takes the Bourne formula to the extreme, its one action scene to another with some awful writing to try and tie it together

That said I also think the Bourne films are horribley overrated, the action in them in particular, the shakey camera can get in the bin but then you'd see all the sins in the acting and editing, John Wick for example blows them out of the water for fast brilliantly choreographed action that's also as clean as a whistle

Absolutely, it was the best (Oscar) movie of whatever year it was for me and I don’t know anything about the story or have any interest in ice skating. The dark humour was right up my street though and there were some fine performances, including best supporting actress I believe.

Can you all take any more Bond talk to The Boring Thread please?

Surprised there isn't actually a Bond thread.

**** me that was superb.

One of the films of the year for me.

This is what I wanted to see. Saw the Wes Anderson thing instead. Humbug.

Late to the party , but Dune last night

20 mins in and I was kinda regretting being a heathen and not having read the books  and regretting not going to see Venom 2 instead

and then once they'd set the scene and introduced the various players  and got newbies like myself up to speed , it just took off  and I really enjoyed it , visually it  looked great , the story arc was decent , though I'm struggling with the concept of a  400 m long worm but I'll let that one slide  ...

looking forward to part 2

Oh regardless of my acclaim of Craig, nothing can save QoS. Definitely his worst film, but as Chindie says it's a masterpiece compared to Die Another Day

Excellent. It's on my list for this week or next, whenever I get a chance.

I'm rewatching Dune on Sunday so Soho may get pushed into next week
