I don't see anything in here that means he couldn't be black

I didn't say he couldn't  .. I just said that it would be a hard sell ,  which in the context of Bond and the backstory I'm fairly sure you already know

I still think Idris Elba would be a good choice. he always seems to be linked with it though and it never seems to be an obvious choice so it'll probably be someone fairly random.

I love Craig as Bond. I think he's great. But I thought Spectre was absolutely shit so I'm finding it hard to look forward to No Time to Die. I'm not a huge Bond fan anyway so it's all a bit meh this time around for me

Spectre was still better than Quantum of Solace. Quantum was horribly filmed and edited.

Spectre was soooo boring (barring the opening sequence).

I’ve watched it twice and still cannot remember what went on it was that dull and a complete waste of Christophe Waltz.

I’m in no rush to see No Time To Die either and I think Craig has been more miss than hit as Bond.

Casino Royale and to a lesser degree, Skyfall were good but the other two were utter bobbins.

Also he’s too pouty and miserable for my liking.

He’s only above Lazenby (although there’s nowt wrong with OHMSS) in my list of best Bonds.

So number 1 then? Lazenby is excellent, but then OHMSS is my favourite Bond film by a massive margin.

I have Lazenby bottom as he only did one (admittedly very good) Bond film which is a bit of a cop out by me.

Diana Rigg apparently hated him and chewed garlic before the love scenes, no wonder she got killed

Diamonds are forever was supposed to have followed directly on from events of OHMSS with him seeking out revenge ... Lazenby quitting ( and Ilse Steppa dying) meant they decided to scrap the idea

I think Elba is probably too old now - he's almost fifty and they'll be looking for someone that can give them a decade or so of Bond.

I don't agree to be honest. They're both bottom of the pile of the Craig bonds, but Spectre was just so achingly dull

George Lazenby was a top mad *******, good Bond for me, I Vaguely  remember something about growing g a beard just to piss everyone off, and his film is really good, very underrated Bond, agree about Craig, he took Bond way too seriously.

Quantum of Solace was poorly done but had its moments.

There seems to be this massive clamour for there to be a change around the Bond actor...

If he or she has to be black. Then why not an Asian actor? Or even Hispanic? Where do we draw the line, surely you can't keep everyone happy?!

On one hand yes it ticks another box to make the change but equally Bond is very much of a time, quintessentially British and defined by the novels.

Completely agree pal and don't even get me started on disabled people.

It's been brilliant for much longer than that

That's fair. It's getting more mainstream appeal now though so the recognition is there.

Speaking of which does anyone know if The Host is on any streaming services???

Barbara Broccoli has already confirmed Bond is male. She seems a traditionalist so I would imagine it will be a white male.

As @villa4europe said, if people want a female spy hero film, they are free to make one.

By the way, I know it's the softest of soft targets, but the pitch meeting that he uploaded yesterday for Die Another Day is just savage :D

They did Quantum a couple weeks ago as well
