I watched Tag at the weekend. A fair few laugh out loud funny moments. On the whole a solid 7/10 film with a 10/10 soundtrack.

Is that the one that was based on a Guardian 'Experience' column? I meant to watch that.

Not sure to be honest. The film has a WSJ journalist with them.

Looking it up on IMDb, it seems it is based on a WSJ article. I haven't read the article so not sure if it's the same people, but one guy told a similar story in an Experience column:

Experience: I've played a game of tag for 23 years

'As teenagers, a group of friends and I spent every spare moment at school playing tag. The game developed into more than just chasing each other round the playground; it involved strategy and cunning. But when I failed to tag someone in the last moments before school broke up for summer – he'd locked himself in his car to avoid it – I resigned myself to for ever being "it".

We all went our separate ways, off to college or moving away for work, so the game fizzled out. Then a reunion brought the 10 of us together again a few years later and someone suggested reviving it. Since we had busy lives and lived hundreds of miles apart, we agreed on three rules. First, we would play it only in February each year; second, you were not allowed immediately to tag back the person who had tagged you; and finally, you had to declare to the group that you were "it".

Now we are grown men, we don't run like Usain Bolt, so subterfuge and collusion have become our weapons. Eleven months of the year are spent planning. Collaborating with a friend is where the fun is – we can spend hours discussing approaches.'

(I remember this column so well because I used to use it as a set text in EFL classes)

It's not going to win any awards but it's a fun movie and well worth a watch. Fair play to the guys who inspired it.

It's an enjoyable film made all the more enjoyable by Annabelle Wallis.

Invisible Man (2020)

An alright film held back by massive plot holes and incredibly stupid characters making incredibly stupid decisions. Could have been amazing if not for some hokey decisions in the script.

Well, Jack Grealish the movie looks like it's going to have a shit ending.

Still hoping we get a re-boot or sequel in 5 years or so.

Watched the French Connection again tonight. Top drawer film with great drama. Some of the worst blood effects ever though

Suicide squad is daft fun, just about strikes the right balance, doesn't hit everything but gets most of it right, without wanting to spoil anything I think the right characters live and die, it's a weird start and the final third actually works somehow when it has no right to

I took stock of my horror collection the other day, I only really started buying films recently, when I was younger I had hundreds and hundreds of horror films on VHS and then because of things like showbox and netflix I got lazy so about 6 months ago I made a conscious effort to start buying my horror collection back on blu ray, when I started out I had about 60 or 70, its come on quite nicely since then.

I'll shove the list in a spoiler because its got a fair few films in it.

If anyone can thing of any absolute classics that I'm missing shout up, the list of films to buy is pretty much never ending but you might come up with something that I had completely forgotten about.

Watched Dead mans Shoes a couple of nights ago, seen it few times before. Such a under rated film, Paddy Considine acting in it is absolute class, Gary Stretch not bad either for an ex pro boxer.

Classic bit "what you looking at"? "YOU YA C***"!
