Rodders
Saw Hacksaw Ridge the other night - really good. Directed well and Garfield was really good. Having only seen Metal Gear Solid fairly recently I couldn't help but think of that during the boot camp bit, but nevertheless, it was nice to see Vince Vaughn not annoy me for once.

villa4europe
VV annoyed the **** out of me in hacksaw ridge, I thought it was a terrible film the bit where he picks the body up and runs at the japs with the big machine gun...Jesus **** Christ
Rodders
fair enough, I have to admit I enjoyed the whole thing. It was nice to a sergeant who wasn't full word removed, maybe it was less realistic, I don't know but it worked for me. Molly's Game - watched it tonight, another Sorkin win for me. Jessica CHastain is excellent. I never like the voice-over narrative though, even with Goodfellas it just jars me, but despite that element, it was really good. Unrelentingly brutal film that gets more uncomfortable as it goes through the gears but it’s really bloody good. VV was fantastic.
Paddywhack
Just been to see Coco. I absolutely loved it, Pixar certainly know how to pull at the heartstrings. I think someone was cutting onions in the cinema..

Only seen it once but found the first one to be ok, and the second one to be outright boring. When it told me to insert DVD 2 I nearly cried. Didn't bother with 3.

Mark Albrighton Posted January 19, 2018 VT Supporter Share Posted January 19, 2018 I love the first two godfather films, and the third has it’s moments (been a while since I’ve watched any of them to be fair). But the above conversation reminds of this - 1

Aside from them two parts it was brilliant

I lreally liked 3, and felt it would have benefited from more of Garcia's storyline in focus, I liked him Obviously ,the huge black mark is Coppola's "acting". She madea wise choice to go behind the camera after that.

Certainly Goodfellas, I can take or leave Casino. The voiceovers from de niro and pesci irritate. I have a mate who watched Casino before Goodfellas and subsequently feels that Casino is the better film out of the two and Goodfellas is the more derivative.
