nah im not having that! expecially the daniel craig ones, they swing wildly from great to shit, CR and skyfall were great, QoS and Spectre were rubbish so i've got high hopes of this one returning to being great to see him off, the biggest disappointment for me will be that after 5 films he's still the "fresh" "new" james bond from CR, meaning that he's neither of those things any more, they havent developed him at all and now i think they will go off in a controversial new direction rather than aim for good writing

i think he's got 2 as a contender for best bond film and worst bond film so the 5th and final one will decide where he ranks as a bond, id have him as 3rd behind connery and moore

Casino Royale - 7/10
Quantum of Solace - 6/10
Skyfall - 7/10
Spectre - 6/10
No Time To Die - probably 6 or 7 / 10 init

More of  a Flint man, eh

If Bond  was filmed in black and white and subtitled he’d love it :P

We've had a Zombieland weekend with the original last night and Double Tap tonight. Both very very amusing, with the sequel just as good (especially the scenes at Gracelands with Luke Wilson and Thomas Middlewich)

Watched Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers Age of Ultron yesterday. Particularly liked the first one GotG. Pleasantly surprised at how good the cast were and engaging the story was. Of the MCU films, my favourite so far.

Nuns on the Run and Mortal Engines for me

Nuns on the Run was great just to see how it's aged. It's still very funny in the most part.

Mortal Engines seems to get some stick but I loved it. I've always liked large scale visual imagined scenes.

Casino Royale 8/10

QofS  6/10

Skyfall 6/10

Spectre 2/10 an absolute mess and Waltz was appalling and pretty much ruined the film

Daniel Craig is a poor Bond imo- too much pouting and brooding stares.. yawn

Shame as Casino Royale was a decent film but the others have been pretty awful (Skyfall may avoid a little of the criticism compared to the other two)

Glad to see Craig stand down from the role.

Spectre made me realise I was done with Bond. Opening set piece aside, it was utter shite, and the character has become a bore.

I did enjoy Casino Royale and Skyfall, but yeah long overdue an end. Bourne and Mission Impossible both have surpassed bond as engaging action thrillers. Really looking forward to the next two MI films.

I don't think there's been such a well-loved set of such mediocre films than Bond since the Carry On films ended. I don't get the appeal for anything other than nostalgia, he's a crap, boring, outdated character with crap boring writing and the odd setpeice.

I've been meaning to mention this for a while, but I love you @Davkaus

I can't recall if I've moaned about Spectre here before, so apologies in advance.

I remember sticking it on to record as I've only ever caught bits and pieces at the start and usually ended up having to leave the film after the car chase through the quiet streets Italy is famed for.

So when I eventually made some time and sat down to sit through the second half, I had a creeping realisation that I knew exactly what was going to happen next; not just because it's a predictable pile of pants, but because in fact I evidently had already watched the film through - but my mind had scrubbed any recollection of when I had actually seen it (probably in an effort to save me having to waste any effort about thinking about it afterwards, guess that backfired a little).  Thankfully I know I've seen it at least twice now though, so won't be making that mistake again (hopefully).

Has anyone watched any of those "Sky Cinema Original" films? Are they as bad as they all appear? The latest one being some contemporary take on Oliver Twist complete with "edgy" street kids, parkour, car chases, and Rita Ora(!?). Looks terrible. I thought Michael Cane was over that period in his career when he used to do bad films for the money. He's surely better than this.

Quoting myself in the Unpopular Opinions thread:

'my Unpopular Opinion for today is that they should just stop making Bond films. Don't try to make them better, don't try to 'find a new Bond', just stop making them, and have some different ideas.'
