Rob182 Posted October 4 Posted October 4 Thread revival from April to raise a musing about attendances. Whats with our reported attendances? The BBC reported ~4k empty seats for the Bayern game, which doesn’t seem correct, and the attendance from the Wolves game was exactly the same number from when we played them a year or two ago. I’m guessing it’s not some sort of Premier League requirement to record an accurate attendance of our matches?

The only empty seats i could see v Bayern were the ones at the front that have to remain empty (still don't know why) and the ones in the Bayern section.. I've watched a few interesting vids from various sections and they seemed to be the only ones. The most interesting one was from "The Aston" the £1k tickets.

At Celtic park they have to leave the first 3 rows empty 1

As mentioned, keeping the first couple of rows empty in the North and Holte will see us lose a load of seats and the segregation in the Witton Lane would have easily lost us around 1000+ seats I reckon. And we'll lose some other seats here and there due to Uefa regulations.

Stretford End and the Kop used to just net off the first few rows so interesting we just left them empty although the odd person decided to stand in them in the North Stand. It's a shame but not a new thing, watch any CL game from the 2000s at an English ground and you'll see the first 2-3 rows empty (maybe also helping to stop a pitch invasion but that's probably giving Uefa too much credit when it's a commercial decision).

They could do that, but it would mean those first two rows standing up - which would most likely mean the rows behind them standing up too, which would most likely mean everyone standing up, which would most likely mean trouble. I would guess two rows of seats in the North Stand and the Holte End is about 600 seats that aren't filled? 2

But suppose they're in good company with FIFA and the FA.

rodders0223 Posted October 5 Posted October 5 There are empty seats as they're assigned to GA+ and nobody is spending 200 quid on them. But it's fine because we're ensuring the fans of tomorrow and riff raff aren't sitting there.
markavfc40 Posted October 23 Posted October 23 BBC are reporting last nights attendance as 41847. They reported the Bayern attendance as 38991. There is no way there were 3k more empty seats against Bayern. Been mentioned in other threads but on Tuesday night there were hundreds of GA+ seats available on the Villa site, especially in upper north and lower north (corner flag), that disappeared on Wednesday morning around the same time hundreds of reduced priced tickets (as low as £25) appeared on third party ticket sale sites. From where I was in the Holte those GA+ seats in the North stand seemed to be full last night. 1

It doesn’t but just find it strange how wolves attendance is identical to two years ago when we played them midweek . Also find it hard to believe that there were 4k empty seats for Bayern Munich. 1
VillaChris Posted October 23 Posted October 23 According to the Times this week our capacity for this season is 42, 918 and our current prem average attendance is 41,542.
