turvontour Posted Tuesday at 08:49 Share Posted Tuesday at 08:49 We really should be beating them given all the issues they've got, their league position, and given that they are coming back from Portugal early hours of Friday, ahead of presumably then coming down to us Saturday night or Sunday morning. OzyBoy Posted Tuesday at 16:17 Visiting Supporter Share Posted Tuesday at 16:17 I hope Villa are going to think strategically about this match and how it's in all our interests that Ten Hag stays in post. The worst result would be to thrash Man Utd 5-0 (which is probably easy enough for you) and for Ten Hag to be sacked. Best all round I think if you gift them a spawny 1-1 draw. Definitely worth dropping two points now: short-term pain, long-term gain.

VillaChris Posted Tuesday at 18:49 Share Posted Tuesday at 18:49 They'd rather have Mainoo available v us than Fernandes I bet. He's the only one of theirs that can actually run in central midfield.

RicRic Posted Tuesday at 23:28 Share Posted Tuesday at 23:28 Think we all know what happens in this one …seen it year after year, we cant beat these 3 or 4 nil like them other village teams can and neither can we just beat them by nicking it…hate this lot with an extreme passion
Stevo985 Posted Wednesday at 10:57 VT Supporter Share Posted Wednesday at 10:57 This is going to be so annoying when we batter them for 90 minutes and lose 2-0
rjw63 Posted Wednesday at 10:59 Share Posted Wednesday at 10:59 Very difficult to put into words what I feel regarding these jizzgoblins (without getting banned). Just hope they don't get their usual gifts from us.
VillaChris Posted Wednesday at 11:00 Share Posted Wednesday at 11:00 Mainoo training today so no injury by looks of it. Just be positive and run at them directly like Spurs did, that's the way to beat them not with slow and cautious football.

OutByEaster? Posted Wednesday at 13:06 Moderator Share Posted Wednesday at 13:06 I think for me its the movement where he looks to quickly scrape/stamp that foot to the floor that's the thing - that movement is what leads the ref to see it as dangerous play and it's not a natural movement - that he didn't reach him with the scraping studs doesn't negate that. Now it might well be that the referee is wrong and that the sudden movement is actually an effort to prevent his making contact with Maddison, but that's a matter of intention and interpretation - it's what we pay the ref for and why we have VAR to back him up - if the opinions of those three or four professionals are that the movement was an effort to harm the opponent, then rightly or wrongly, I don't think an appeal that doesn't introduce any other facts should become an opinion that carries more weight than that of the officials. The details of the appeal would be fascinating to see.

VillaChris Posted Wednesday at 22:17 Share Posted Wednesday at 22:17 We really really should be beating them comfortably. They are levels below Bayern Munich and display it most weeks in premier league and europe. I actually think the injuries will give the long awaited chance to finally freshen up the starting 11. Cash an option to give an hour to at RB but most likely unchanged backline. Bailey played his way out of Sunday so I think we'll go with Maatsen on the left and Jaden on the right. Maasten as a bit of a cheat option to come inside when in possession and Rogers running at them is how we win this.

PaulC Posted Wednesday at 22:45 Share Posted Wednesday at 22:45 Its the mental fatigue after a game like tonight I worry about for Sunday. It's a different experience for the players and knowing that Ten hag will probably be out of a job if united loose and that we rarely beat them at home. This game is going to be very difficult..
