TheStagMan
No. We absolutely have to win this. My boss (German) is a Bayern Munich fan and has been giving it large about this game. He was also quite derisory about us being in the competition. We have to beat them.
It's Your Round
Hoping they rock up to Villa Park dripping in complacency after their recent big score line wins. We can absolutely beat them if we turn up both on and off the pitch, it will be a night to remember and hopefully for the best reasons. I hope we boo Kane relentlessly too.

VillaChris
Watkins v Upamecano will be a fun battle, don't rate him at all. The rest of their side is very good though. Let's remember this is a serious contender to win the CL. Think it will be a narrow loss but we'll have our spells so just enjoy the occasion (especially at the prices everyone attending is paying!) wedge
Headphones on > go to timestamp 1:18 > close eyes > imagine VP at 7:58pm on Wednesday > Enjoy the goosebumps I'm sure we'll all take our own individual private moments on Wednesday to take it all in, it's easy to forget just how far we've come. I'm 30 years of age, this is the biggest game at Villa Park in my lifetime bar none. I don't think we will as Bayern are arguably the best team in Europe at the moment, and my brain can't even begin to comprehend what it will be like if we do, but if we were to somehow win I'm not sure how it gets much better than that...
Popular Post HeroesAndVillans Posted September 28 VT Supporter Popular Post Share Posted September 28 A UEFA Champions League thread, for a game against Bayern, on an Aston Villa forum. I really don't know what to say. I really think my whole life, starting with my Villa obsession as a kid, has led up to this campaign. Not ashamed to admit that I could be in tears as that anthem rings out at Villa Park.
Leeroy Posted Sunday at 07:38 Share Posted Sunday at 07:38 They are ridiculously good. Only got to keep Kane, Musiala, Olise, Gnabry, Coman, Sane, Tel and Muller quiet in the attacking areas. Kimmich and Davies are two of the best full backs in the world. How they didn't win the league last season I don't know, Leverkusen are some side to stop them. Why they appointed Kompany was also baffling, but he's done pretty well so far. We have players to hurt them though and their defence does like to leak goals. I'm in Shanghai currently so will be 3am here, unlikely I'll watch sadly, although if we keep the scoreline respectful it will be a good result for us. Take a point all day long.

I was thinking that earlier. We could be playing Bayern Munich in the champions league on Wednesday while we're sat joint top of the premier league. Feels like it's only downhill from there. Haha. 2

PaulC Posted Sunday at 09:39 Share Posted Sunday at 09:39 I can't think of many bigger games in the history of Aston Villa. Maybe the biggest since we played that all star Juventus team in 1983. Hopefully a different outcome. A draw wouid be fantastic

supermon Posted Sunday at 15:10 Share Posted Sunday at 15:10 I mean I am scared for the defense in the game, playing a high line against these lot seems suicidal with the pace they have.
Rodders Posted Sunday at 15:44 Share Posted Sunday at 15:44 We'll be raped if we play that defence. Or id we do play with intensity in this game it then highlights how unprofessional we were versus Ipswich.
