conorm Posted September 11 Posted September 11 Sorry if this has been asked before - I've browsed for a relevant topic but couldn't find anything. I want to bring my two boys to a game at Villa Park and am wondering what the best way to get tickets is? We have no purchase history so it feels like we are up against it. Anything we should be doing to increase our chances of getting GA tix? Or can resellers be trusted?

Waiting for general sale is risky and no chance of getting 3 together. It does depend on who we are playing though 1 1
Wainy316 Posted September 11 Posted September 11 Yep get a membership and then you have the same chance as everyone else without a Season Ticket. You'll have to start with a none top category game as they only go on sale to booking history (to avoid away fans in the home end and appears to be the case with both the Wolves and Man Utd games). Once you've got one under your belt you'll be able to buy those too. 1
conorm Posted September 11 Author Posted September 11 Thanks both. Not sure how I missed the membership option, but that is a great shout.

You would be ok for domestic cup games without membership I think but membership is worth it you get a nice little gift too. 1 1
Paul33 Posted September 11 Posted September 11 (edited) I've had a Claret Club membership for last few years and that used to do the job but this season they have started requiring Claret Club membership PLUS a certain number of games so really of no use if you are bringing kids. I only have one mini-Villain but even when I log in bang on the minute for Claret Club members, there are no "two seat" tickets ..... just singles dotted around. Suffice to say, I won't be renewing next season and I certainly wouldn't recommend Claret Club membership if you are looking for 2 or 3 seat bookings. PS: Been following Villa all over the world since 1968 but now have a 200+ mile round trip to Villa Park hence can't afford season ticket plus travel costs. PPS: My only successes with tickets are from checking "sold out" games every morning and evening on the lead up to the game because returned tickets can suddenly re-appear and they can be good tickets too. You just need to be lucky and fast as they go quickly ! Edited September 11 by Paul33 1 1

It depends where you want to sit, upper Trinity used to be easy but now they have loaded up with Lower Grounds up there. This season I have managed to get two in Lower Holte in the same area for every game so far, last season that was never possible, not for league games anyway

My littlest has been asking to go to her first game for ages so when we come over to the uk it looks like a good way to be able to get to a game. We'll have to pick a non top tier one obvs. Cheers. 1

Not sure you will, me and my lad got over to Liverpool game and got tickets handy enough, was game of season at home. Was a night game in fairness. Other games such as Everton and Bournemouth we actually got into Holte. Just be ready to buy when they go on sale at 5pm 1

You just need to be lucky and fast as they go quickly ! It’s only Cat A games that require a booking history, or CL games. The rest don’t. If you’re bringing a kid, I’d recommend Zone 4, block B7 or the block directly above it A8 as it is the family zone and you can only purchase tickets in there if you’re purchasing for a child aswell. 3
cheltenham_villa Posted September 11 Posted September 11 Should add that mid week games rarely sell out. Trickier with kids i know but even the mid week game vs City last year didnt sell out. Youll possibly need to find areas of the ground that dont offer concession prices to kids. Ive also heard many comment that the friday before a game often sees more seats released. Not sure if these are unsold GA+ seats or typically when season ticket resells are released. Could also be a load of rubbish 1

They were all over the place last season They actually need to do that with Trinity as well. Shift season tickets one seat to left or right to eliminate singles in between. And when members buy tickets don't let them buy in a way that leaves singles (like theatres and arenas do). 1

Anything we should be doing to increase our chances of getting GA tix? Or can resellers be trusted? Back in the day my son used to do the club's school holiday schools. They give kids (aged 5 - 12) a week's football training and used to include a match day ticket for the child and an adult for a game at Villa Park. I'm not aware whether the club's soccer schools still do (I'm sure that someone, will know though), but if so, this might be an option and there is one for the October half term. Otherwise tickets for home League Cup & FA Cup games might be available, as has been mentioned. Good hunting! Vive_La_Villa Posted September 12 Posted September 12 As tickets are now non-refundable does anybody know if there is any sort of resell option?
Tomsub Posted September 12 Posted September 12 HELP PLEASE. I changed jobs a couple of weeks ago and had to hand back my company phone; it had my e-season ticket on it. I've just come to downlaod it onto a personal phone and it won't let me as it says it's already been downlaoded and can only be on one device. AAAagh!

Yeah that’s the thing with all the digital tickets. Once it’s downloaded onto a phone, it’s locked to that phone. You’ll need to call the ticket office and get them to resend the digital ticket to you.

I've no idea how they do it, or even why they do it, because it's clear as day and you must be incredibly brave/stupid.
