CarryOnVilla Posted June 22 Posted June 22 (edited) This question came up in my friendship group and maybe VT might have fun with this too. We have only come up with a small handful of names Can you guys name players that have won… their nation’s league, their nation’s cup their continental cup the FIFA club World Cup their international continental cup and the World Cup bones points to that player if they’ve won other things too, such as other nation leagues, cups and the Ballon D’or. *caveats that are acceptable, if a competition wasn’t available (Club World Cup for example) when the player were playing, they get a a pass… Edited June 22 by CarryOnVilla
sharkyvilla Posted June 22 Posted June 22 Must be loads of that great Spain team full of Barca and Real players. Can't be any English ones surely as we've never won the Euros?

The English players I was thinking of were playing in that era. You were right, there’s no English players that have done this Edited June 22 by CarryOnVilla
Zatman Posted June 22 Posted June 22 Xavi, Iniesta, Ramos, Xabi Alonso, Pique, Puyol maybe Pedro and Victor Valdes. Then maybe some Germans from the 70s like Beckenbauer and Moller in 90s Might be a few French players but they played more abroad 1
foreveryoung Posted June 22 Posted June 22 Deshamps won a bit, then become manager of his national team, not a bad screw! 1

The ballon d’or is the extra bit that I don’t think any other player has on the list 1
Villaphan04 Posted June 22 Posted June 22 (edited) I figure that Julián Álvarez is on the list. Edit: 1x World Cup 1x Copa America 1x Club World Cup 1x Champions League 1x UEFA Super Cup 1x Copa Libertadores 2x Premier League 1x FA Cup 1x Liga Profesional de Fútbol (top scorer & POTS) 1x Copa Argentina (Scored in the final) 1x Supercopa Argentina 1x Trofeo de Campeones (another Argentina Super Cup) Edited June 22 by Villaphan04 1
KentVillan Posted June 22 Posted June 22 A few names I thought would have definitely done this are a surprising “No” Rivaldo never won the Club World Cup, and altho he won the European continental cup, he never won the Libertadores Ronaldinho did win the Libertadores but also never won the Club World Cup, and surprisingly never actually won the Brazilian national league. Zidane didn’t win domestic trophies at Bordeaux Pele absolutely smashed most of these categories with multiple wins, but he never won the Copa America! And the most mindblowing one is Cafu, who won everything in this question multiple times across two continents, but never won the Brazilian domestic cup! You’re right it’s a really tricky question!

KentVillan Posted June 22 Posted June 22 Thierry Henry and Didier Deschamps both came close - both of them just missing the French domestic cup 1
