I think a lot of people's opinions will have changed by next week.

And this is the whole problem folks....... one signing and the pressure is off the old fart once again. He manages it every time.

You almost sound like you're hoping we don't strengthen our squad.

Surely not??

i'm quite optimistic we have a striker who looks like he could easily score 20 goals a very top verstile defender in aaron hughes, a quality keeper who can push sorensen and with top players like ollie, barry, jpa(when he wants to play) we have got good players to get us in europe. Yes we have a small squad but with upcoming youngsters breaking through into the team and ellis hasn't got long left so why be pessimistic we aren't in debt and we have a good ground.

Things can only get better

Wrong again AVFC.... I really want to see us sign Baros but it wouldn't cure the disease that we have that made this whole signing such a painful process.

We could have had Owen with money :crylaugh:

As both of the above are subjective, it is difficult to answer.

I am optimistic that villa can achieve a top ten finish

I am pessimistic about our chances of winning the double.

How should I answer?

Optimistic : The high quality (and very high cholesterol ) food served in the Villa board room.

Pessimistic : Recent advances in cardiovascular medicine.

Optimistic : Baros scoring twenty goals.

Pessimistic : For West Ham.

Optimistic : 6th.

Pessimistic : 16th.

Optimistic : First FA Cup Final since 2000.

Pessimistic : Another FA Cup Final like 2000.

I'm going to need a few more days to figure this out.

Now I wish I had studied to be a Doctor. I could have made a fortune off us Villa fans prescribing Prozac and Vallium for depression .

Oh and for the Small Heath Crowd it would have been Viagra! :crylaugh:

The old line " You don't have to be nuts to be a Villa Fan but it helps if you are " definitely applies.

I am going to always remain optimistic where the Villa is concerned. The alternative isn't worth

the energy. Up the Villa!

Phew !! Denis! If we thought the Baros affair goes on for ever , can you imagine how long the Michael Owen negotiating will take ?

I am laughing so much at the mere thought of that one I won't be able to eat my cornflakes for another ten minutes this morning !

pesimistic...im hopeful, but expect very little...

Me too.

Not much has changed since I posted that a decade ago!

I'm maybe a little bit more hopeful now and expect a bit more, but not much. The perennial averageness of being a Villa fan!
