I hope we don't put McGinn left-back or something for such a big game - has to be Young if they're out. Moreno has had surgery and is out and could miss pre-season. Digne is in the training pictures on the official site, so should be in the squad for Sunday. 1 1
BOF Posted Friday at 14:11 Moderator Share Posted Friday at 14:11 David Coote the ref. I know he has history with Dean Smith, but according to the rating marks he got in VT earlier this season, he did quite well with us despite a 1-0 home defeat to West Ham. Fingers crossed he's seen and not heard on Sunday.
sheepyvillian Posted Friday at 18:42 Share Posted Friday at 18:42 Should we make Europe then I'm definitely on that tour. I've a feeling Brighton are going to be very up for this one. No team likes having the double puo over them. I think we'll scrape it with a McGinn special, here's hoping. Come on me Babbys!
Wainy316 Posted Friday at 20:53 Share Posted Friday at 20:53 These massive games that evoke mega nerves are unbearable but at the end of the day, these are the type of games that we as fans are all in it for

delboy54 Posted yesterday at 06:19 Share Posted yesterday at 06:19 4 years ago we had one of the biggest games in the clubs recent history, the play off final v Derby. I felt so nervous about this as Wembley was never a happy place for me as I had only ever been able to see Villa win once at Wembley and that was the 1975 league cup win v Norwich. This time it feels a bit different for me as I obviously want us to win and grab that last Europe place, not as much for me, but for the players. They have had a rubbish start to the season under the "fraud" and it looked like another struggle to avoid relegation, and now under the new boss they look more "together", a true "team" that are now integrated into a system that works and look like they are enjoying playing for the Villa and the new boss. I want them to win, to get that last European place because they deserve it.. 3

Tomorrow? I dunno. Exactly where I am. We were miles better than Derby and had spanked them twice that season already. We were up the minute Leeds dropped the ball. This time it’s all there for us but we are playing against a very very good side. So dunno. Felt like that all the way through this run though and we’ve done OK! Turns out Unai doesn’t need our magical thinking. He’s already taken care of it.

ferguson1 Posted yesterday at 09:40 Share Posted yesterday at 09:40 Probably our biggest home Premier League game in the last ten years or so. Brighton are very very good but they do have the odd hiccup like Everton at home recently. I’m sure the atmosphere will be electric and the 12th man could really play a part here. Couple of places up for grabs but the rest pick themselves. Cash or Young and Buendia or Bailey? Really is a toss of a coin. Emery will have been working on this for a week and I expect him to find a way to win the game: Martinez Cash Konsa Mings Digne Kamara Luiz McGinn Ramsey Buendia Watkins Subs: Olsen, Sinisalo, Young, Carlos, Chambers, Dendoncker, Bailey, Traore, Duran If we can recreate or better the Newcastle atmosphere then perhaps we’ll see a similar performance from the players? I’m optimistic and think we’re gonna do this. 3-1 win. UTV

I expect the vast amount of them don't give 2 sh*ts about us, other than it's a nice away day. 25 odd years ago they nearly went out of the football league so this is probably their best season in their entire history.

Maybe it’s the anonymity of the internet, or maybe we just acquaint ourselves with decent folk in real life, but I rarely meet people that share the same foolish opinions that I see online.
