That was a straight mentality battle in the end.

The Spaniards failed that. The Pen takers looked mentally shot. Moroccan keeper made of steel.

A friend in the travel industry has had to cancel a shedload of flights for Spanish groups who were booked for the 10th ( As it was a " given " they were through before the game lol.

Is it normal for the sub to go sit alone on the bench before the team comes out?

It is when the sub is the world's biggest word removed. Always determined to make it all about him.

Already got the application in for a Saudi passport

They can have him. I'll drive him to the airport.

He'll be tied up in the boot, naturally.

Spurs fans were crying when they were linked to him in January. They ended up doing alright in the end with their midfield recruitments, but he wouldn't have been a bad signing at all.

Just like the Villa fans crying about Bentancur.

This is one of those UK English terms I love. Wish we had that one.

W***er is one of my favourites. Is it true that in the States they think it's just a mild word, like the aforementioned plonker?

Berk is another one. Very mild here, but rhyming slang for something very offensive.

Just like Japan yesterday its condescending that people consider them pluck underdogs

Hakimi is probably the most expensive full back ever, Mazraoui plays for Bayern and Bounou has won the Europe League. Ziyech is also a match winner for them with solid players like Saiss, Amrabat and El Neysri in there

It's not condescending. They were clear underdogs. They're starting people who play for Standard Liege, Besiktas and Angers (bottom of Ligue 1). They have Burnley and QPR players in their squad.

They're a well-drilled team, who deserved to win. Hakimi is class, best RB at the World Cup - but apart from the few, half-decent players you mentioned (who wouldn't start for a Brazil, France or England, let's be honest) - they're miles off the typical "powerhouses" on paper.

Love that they got through, breath of fresh air seeing a less-established team make a run and it's well-deserved. But if France/England lose to them, it would be a massive upset. It's not condescending to say that.
