Xela Posted September 26, 2024 Posted September 26, 2024 Got Ricky Gervais tickets for Brum in Jan. Show called Mortality. Got them in the pre-sale today, think they go on general sale tomorrow.
Rob182 Posted September 26, 2024 Posted September 26, 2024 I imagine he’ll just be whinging for 45 minutes about how you can’t make jokes anymore. His last one really bored me. 1
theboyangel Posted September 26, 2024 Posted September 26, 2024 Saw Maisie Adam the other night in Exeter and she very good indeed! Last weekend we had a comedy night in our town and Joe Thomas (Simon from Inbetweeners) was the middle act - thankfully not the headline act as he was uncomfortably not very good .. The main guy, Mike Gunn was very funny so ended the night well. 1

He doesnt have the bravado of James Buckley for Cameo, the range of Blake Harrison or the comedic acting of Simon Bird. My belief is based on that he is giving stand up a go. From what little I have seen he is some way off that being a going concern for him.

Absolutely, it’s quite awkward to watch as he comes across as a little desperate and reliant on his Inbetweeners rep. He was pretty awkward on Taskmaster too but I don’t think it’s an act he’s putting on. deffo recommend catching Maisie Adam though if you can (she’d be a great addition to Taskmaster too!) 1
Follyfoot Posted October 22, 2024 VT Supporter Posted October 22, 2024 Can not seem to avoid that SNL Espresso spoof 'Domingo' on social media at the moment, I assume Grande is singing out of tune on purpose ?
tomav84 Posted November 29, 2024 VT Supporter Posted November 29, 2024 Enjoyed this more than I thought i would 2

Unless Wright had mentioned him, he would't have referenced him, yet he was pivotal in the the XFM shows, the Office, Extras and the podcasts.
Davkaus Posted December 7, 2024 Posted December 7, 2024 James Acaster's 'Heckler's Welcome' show is essentially just a 75 minute retrospective of a mental breakdown in slow motion, I found it weirdly uncomfortable viewing, and not a lot of laughs at all, it's the first time one of his shows has fallen flat for me.

It’s on HBO here. They are pimping it hard but I’m not biting

I was disappointed seeing it live. Have been a fan since his circuit days but this last one was just flat.
