No other pl keeper has accrued more than 3 yellow cards this season so far in comparison. That said, from what I can find he’s actually on 2 yellows not 3. Yep, it is only 2 and they were his most recent 2 so I think the reputation is a little undeserved. But he is definitely a shithouse

BOF Posted November 14, 2022 Moderator Share Posted November 14, 2022 Just now, Laughable Chimp said: I don’t care about being a dirty team. Will be a bit annoying though seeing other fans use it to criticize us though. I'm the opposite. I think it's great if they do, because it'll mean it's working. We're pissing them off. We're probably taking points off them in the process. Bring it on.
Marka Ragnos Posted November 14, 2022 VT Supporter Share Posted November 14, 2022 100% yes, we're dirty AF, but it's 80% a function of poor coaching and tactical frustrations and failures. Something that will need to be unlearned but will take time—and it's inevitable under Unai, I believe. Being "dirty" gets the "hard men" all excited, but it's obviously, in the end, a reflection of failure not success. It WILL change.

Keep in mind that 7 Yellows in one game has skewed things considerably. We've committed 179 fouls and been fouled 180 times, we've received 37 Yellows and 1 Red (which was rescinded, but is still being shown in stats everywhere I look) , yet only 26 Yellows and 1 Red for our opposition... I appreciate that it depends upon each individual foul, but 11 yellows difference is quite a lot. The 180 fouls against us makes us the second most fouled team in the league, yet the 26 Yellows against us is about average. Also Leeds have committed the same amount of fouls as us and yet only and received 29 Yellows and 2 Reds, again a difference of 8 Yellows for the same amount of fouls seems a bit much. birdman
We have been far too soft until recently. Because clubs in our position don't tend to get the rub of the green from officials compared to the top 4 clubs you have to fight tooth and nail for points. Thats not the only reason of course but it doesnt help. Brighton was probably a bit OTT in terms of time wasting etc but the hope is eventually we won't have to resort to that when we are able to dominate most games. Made In Aston
People were complaining that we were too nice under dean Smith. When we finally start to do some shithousery we get criticised. All the top teams do it and we should be no different. I'm not ashamed to say that I look forward to our 10 yellows against Liverpool if it means winning.

Popular Post Annoyman
I think it varies a bit from player, some personal observations below: Buendia - Feisty, bit niggly but not dirty, notably tries hard to play on when being fouled. Bailey mostly lives here too I guess Coutinho: serene, graceful, vague air of sadness, possibly confused? Ings, Digne, Cash, McGinn, Ramsey - committed, prone to the occasional tactical foul, timewasting routine, rush of blood to the head or failed recovery challenge after being caught out Watkins - hardly a scoundrel but tempted by the odd dive, perhaps as perceived in his innocence as restorative justice for rough treatment at the hands of thuggish centrebacks; nothing you'd stop him dating your daughter over Luiz: hmmmmmmmmm Mings - likes a grapple, occasionally prone to obliterating another player's skull Young, Martinez - Satan Edited November 14, 2022 by Annoyman

MentalM
tbh 6 of the yellows came in the last 15 minutes vs Brighton. Not one of them were wrong. Wouldnt call it dirty, but its cynical and shithousery. I dont mind doing this for a bit, but a bit more actual playing time would be nice in our games...
